Welcome to my 50 Yard Stache Page. The name took many minutes of brainstorming with everyone on gchat at the time.

Basically, this is just like any other charity event, but instead of someone doing something lame like running a mile, I am growing a mustache for a month.
Welcome to my 50 Yard Stache Page. The name took many minutes of brainstorming with everyone on gchat at the time.

Basically, this is just like any other charity event, but instead of someone doing something lame like running a mile, I am growing a mustache for a month. I shaved my upper lip completely on Thursday, November 13, and it will not be touched again until Saturday, December 13.

No, I can't just grow a beard and shave it all off at the end of the month. Once a week, I have to shave off all facial hair other than my stache. Even my glorious sideburns are gone. Added significance is that I will be facing Thanksgiving dinner and my High School 5-year reunion mustached.

When thinking how much to give, I want you to think of me as a homeless person...sitting on street shaking my cup...growing my stache. I know if I saw a homeless person with a really awesome stache, i might drop a few pennies in his cup, maybe a nickel, maybe even a dollar.

Seriously, I'm not looking for huge donations from everyone. As small a donation as you can or want to give is fantastic. Remember, I'm a bum on the street. Even if its just a quarter, it's something.

In case the stache isn't enough to convince you to donate, DonorsChoose is a really awesome charity. Basically, teachers post requests for supplies they need for their classroom or projects or they want to do and the amount of money it will cost. Then people like yourselves can donate to make them happen. If you feel strongly against the projects I chose, please look through the site a bit and find a project that you would like to support.
hide
