This is my second year growing for Mustaches for Kids! Though not excited to be growing another 'stache, I am excited to help fund lots of worthy causes.
I've decided to focus on literacy, math skills and special education for my projects on this page. While I'm mostly posting projects from the greater Charlotte area, I'm also going to have some St. Louis projects since last year STL folks accounted for a very large percentage of my donations.

Thank you very much for your support. This is a new class this year and it has been difficult with what few supplies we have. The students will really be excited to use our new forensics activities in the classroom. They will really enjoy the hands-on crime scene activities that will place them at the scene of the crime and allow them to solve various cases. Your generosity is greatly appreciated”
I am writing to express my sincere gratitude to you for donating to my classroom. Your donation has enabled over 100 students to start visualizing the microscopic details of life. My biology students were desperately needing different ways to access our content. Having an LCD projector for our classroom has drastically improved the accessibility of difficult information for the variety of learners in my classroom.
My biology students were under a new stressful circumstance this year. The state of Missouri implemented a new "end-of-course exam", in which students would prove themselves in all necessary biology competencies. Needless to say, students were stressed about this high stakes exam, and expressed concern about how they could learn all of the necessary information as well as actually obtaining a useful, working knowledge of science and biology. Reading out of a textbook is one thing, but analyzing biological diagrams, watching videos about ecosystem interactions, and playing review jeopardy before the E.O.C. is a completely other realm of learning.
One aspect of having our LCD projector for our classroom that revolutionized my teaching and my student's learning was my utilization of the projector in my lecture/notes procedure. Many teachers have the gift of a "Smartboard", but I improvised with my LCD and a plain whiteboard to make what my students called a "semi-Smartboard". Your part in ensuring that my students could have an LCD projector was undoubtedly key in their achievement this year.
Again, thank you for your support to ensure that student in St. Louis are provided the world class education and materials they deserve. My students and I are extremely grateful for your donation. ”

Thank you so much for your generosity. Your donation will make it possible for students with disabilities to more successfully access the general curriculum and learn alongside their friends and peers. I have seen how simple ‘assistive technology’ devices have turned the impossible into possible and the frowns into smiles. As students with disabilities are spending more time with their non-disabled peers, I am constantly seeking ways to provide meaningful educational experiences and identify strategies to support my students. Unfortunately many of the items needed are not always provided for students with disabilities that are considered “milder.” Assistive technology for students with mild disabilities is a growing and exciting field- and I am grateful to be a part of it and appreciate your contribution to it, as well”
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! I was really starting to panic, thinking that I was going to have to teach fractions and decimals without proper manipulatives. I am so excited for the materials to arrive in my classroom so my students can have a more enriched learning experience with abstract concepts. My students and I are so grateful for what you have done to better my classroom.”
I am really excited for my next semester class to receive this wonderful gift. I foresee some great things being done with these aquariums. We will be looking at ecosystems, doing experiments with plants, and hopefully animal behavior. This resource will facilitate many different activities through out the semester and following years to come. This is truly a gift that will keep on giving for a long time. Thank you very much”

Thank you for funding our project! Our students are very curious about the world, and many are concerned about the impact the use of fossil fuels is having on our environment. These materials will go a long way toward helping them understand alternative energy. I think these materials will be so fun to use that they won't know they are learning!
Thank you again for helping to make the concept of alternative energy a hands on learning experience for students who cannot see. In this time of budget cuts and uncertainty, it is a real blessing”
Thank you so much for this wonderful donation. These kids love to sing! I'm thrilled that I can put quality music in their hands because of YOU!! I'm already making plans for their next concert. Now I have music to use for their concert in February and May. Your generous donation means the world to these kids. Thank you again!
Incredible! I had almost given up hope, but 'tis the season for giving. Even though Winter Break officially started today, your donation inspires me and already is making me excited to return to school in January. As the school year continues, I have gotten to know my students on much more personal level, and vice versa. The Freedom Writer's guide will certainly help me steer my students towards writing that is significant to themselves and others. I'm so excited for the technology component of this proposal. My students have been creating some incredible work and the printer will help me give them the fame that they deserve. With the projector screen I can implement more audio and visual components to the class, which should stimulate their learning. The timing for this, once again, couldn't have been better. Thank you for you support and generosity. Children's lives will be made better in some way through your support. For that, I am thankful. Happy Holidays”

I was so excited to learn that my proposal was funded. On behalf of all my students, thank you. These puzzles will enhance their fine motor skills. All my students are visual and auditory learners, and the puzzles will definitely keep their attention. I can't wait to receive the puzzles and see them actually being used. Thank you”

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my project! I'm thrilled that I'll be able to share this unique novel with my students. Moreover, I can't wait to help my students see and understand new parts of the world - including parts of our own nation that we sometimes prefer not to see.
I actually used the opening passage from "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian" with my World Literature students recently - for an exercise on tone in literature - and they were all clamoring to read more. Thanks for letting them enjoy the rest of the story!!
Sincerely,
Ann”
