It is with mixed emotions that I am participating in Mustaches for Kids. That's right, for the next four weeks, I will be subjecting myself to public humiliation and private doubt by growing what will no-doubt be a ridiculous looking Mustache. In order to justify this endeavor I need your support. Please sponsor my Mustache by picking a classroom project from the list below to support. And wish me and my Mustache luck. I can't thank you enough for your generous contributions! My classroom is sorely lacking in technology. Our school has grown from a K-5 to a K-8 with extremely little funding for the transition, and the school is struggling to keep up with technology as well as provide access to all students in one computer lab. My classes share the lab with the entire 4-8th grades in the school. With your generosity, my students will now have easy access to a laptop in the classroom, and we can utilize it for visual presentations, individual work on our zines, internet research, and a million other things!
My students will greatly benefit from the netbook in the classroom. I love to see students excited about learning, and your contributions are making that happen!! My students' lives are going to improve by becoming better at creating and giving visual presentations, learning about research skills and finding valid information, and just generally becoming more comfortable with the technology they will eventually use in the workforce. You have given my students a great gift, and I am extremely grateful.”
I would like to take this time to thank you for your generous donation to my classroom. I use the projector daily to engage my students in lessons. We've used it to introduce new math concepts, to show examples of new vocabulary words, and to play review games before a test.
Working in a low eeconomical area means that we don't always have the resources we need but, thanks to your help my class is lucky enough to benefit from a wonderful resource that creates instant engagement.
Again, I thank you. Without kind people like you many students and schools throughout the United States would go without. ”
It is amazing seeing a letter addressed to this many individuals! I cannot thank you enough for supporting the efforts to bridge the community and the public schools.
As more and more mentors join the mentoring program, they are astonished at the generosity of others in helping to make the resource area a reality. Students are shocked and wonder how the mentors could pick the perfect material for them to work on and beg their mentors to share the supplies with their classroom teacher.
Again, the mentors, students, and I all thank you for your contribution!”
Since the arrival and set up of our laptop, students have been engaged in creating activities for the SMART board. They've learned to create activities to help them review the 50 US state capitals, geography, historic figures and events. They have also benefited from the various on-line lessons and resources to enhance lessons that we were unable to access previously due to our outdated computers.
Students have excited requested to create additional activities and search for more electronic flip charts on the current topics of study. The students have been working so well together, strengthening their interpersonal skills, as they compromise on choices and decisions in the development of these activities on the laptop.
Thank you so much for your contribution in funding our classroom laptop and making all this possible!!!

My 7th graders have never been so excited about reading. The books that you purchased for our class have truly caused a stir. Advanced readers, struggling readers, and everyone in between have found books that they can't stop reading. All around the school, there is a buzz about these books-- some of my students have even convinced other teachers to read these novels.
It has made such a difference to the kids to know that these books were all purchased especially for them because they are such compelling, absorbing stories. They know that these are some of the best books out there, and are touched that people who don't even know them would help purchase these books for our school.
Your generous support will continue to inspire kids for years to come. I can't wait to get these books in the hands of my future students and watch them light up like my students are today. Thank you so much on behalf of myself and my students!”
I can not thank you enough for your generous donation. The tables you funded have completely transformed the outdoor space and provided a safe spot for kids to learn, eat and simply sit. Teachers and students now sit there to eat lunch and I even saw the principal sitting at the tables and doing paperwork yesterday!
Aside from having a peaceful place to sit, we also now have a place to conduct hands on science lessons. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of these children!
Thank you all again for taking part in making this project a reality! The laptops arrived and my students began using them immediately and have already had so much fun with them! They have used the computers to work on math, reading, and to look up answers to questions during science. Students work even harder during class so that they have a chance to use the laptops! I can already see the difference they are making in the level of engagement in school.
My students were so excited to know that people they don't know gave money to help get a laptop to help them learn better. My students have started brainstorming a way for them to give back to others. Hopefully we will decide on a way to pay it forward soon : )
Once again, thank you!”
With gratitude,
Teacher
