For the past few weeks, I've grown an amazing Mustache. To justify this endeavor, I need your support. Please sponsor my 'stache by choosing a classroom project below and making a donation of any amount. The money goes directly to support Baltimore City school children for subjects like math, science, and engineering. And wish me and my Mustache luck.
We were so excited to receive the packages! The students have been asking when we would be back in the garden all winter long. Spring has finally arrived and we were all ready to get outside. Students worked together cleaning up the weeds and trash to prepare for the new growing season. We were able to use the new hose, nozzle, and watering cans to make tending to our garden much easier. The students harvested the garlic we planted in the fall and were able to take it home to try.
After cleaning up the garden, we worked together to make our first stepping stone. Students measured and mixed the concrete and designed the stone themselves. They enjoyed designing the stone with all of the different colored tiles and seeing the end result of their work together. We will be able to create more stepping stones for our garden in the near future. After other students saw the stone, they all want to make one!
Having the new supplies for the garden make it much easier to involve younger students. We have also collaborated with the 7th grade Science teacher to add a butterfly garden. This project has helped engage students in learning about the environment, our effects on our planet, and how we can be catalysts for a healthier and more environmentally conscious community. Our students are earning Service Learning Hours participating in an activity that interests them while learning about healthier eating and the effects of our actions on our environment.”

I am so grateful for the supplies for my AP Psychology students. My students have been able to perform tasks like true professionals by collecting data with clipboards and using the graph paper and calculators to analyze the data. These supplies were used to inform different lab reports including one on operant conditioning.
So often, teachers are told to teach the skills and vocabulary of the discipline, and in schools with limited resources it's much easier to focus on the latter. But with your generous donation, we have been able to encourage the development of the research skill set for my young AP Psychology researchers. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
Thank you so much for your generous donations towards math games for my classroom! We have been using these games in stations and the students are enjoying the engaging learning experiences! I have also been using the games as an intervention to practice previously learned math skills in my morning math club! The cards can be used to play many different games that the students enjoy playing! I have seen a lot of growth in my students' math skills since we started using the games in the classroom. Thank you again for you donations towards these fantastic learning materials.”
Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom. With your donations we have been able to expand our knowledge on magnets, sink and float, seasons and weather changes, as well as animal habitats and animal features. My students have truly enjoyed all of the science materials that you helped purchase for our classroom. During daily learning center rotations students get excited to see what new science materials are available for them to explore and learn with. The materials are interactive and self-directed so they do not need teacher assistance to complete the tasks.
When we were learning about the growth cycle and parts of a plant my students were really excited to use the parts of a flower stampers. They were able to stamp the parts of a flower and then used the photo key that was provided in order to independently label the parts of the flower. During this unit they were also able to use one of the file folder activities to build and label the parts of a flower. My students were so excited to take the knowledge that we were learning in class and apply it to their own independent learning.
I can see the excitement that my students have over these wonderful science materials. They are truly excited to have and use them in our classroom. Thanks to your donations we are sparking the early interest in science. Once again thank you for your support of our classroom.”

My class received a complete Mathematical Hot Dots Fluency set along with Hot Dot pens. These items allow students to work in groups or independently to improve fluency skills in all operation areas.
Believe it or not this is a hot ticket item during "free time". This means I have students racing to spend their time improving and preparing for 4th grade. How amazing !! These tools are also used during small group instruction for students that need to experience independence with a facilitator for reinforcement and guidance.
Student proficiency in multiplication and division fluency by 51% since the beginning of the school year. I am very proud of their accomplishments and know they will be adequately prepared to take on tougher skills next year because of every ones generous donation!”
What an awesome project, and it's all thanks to your donation.
Today, my students took a look at their young seedlings one week after they planted their seeds in our indoor grow labs. Students measured growth, drew their plants, and recorded observations. In the next few weeks, students will continue to care for their plants until it's time to harvest. Then, it's lunch time - students will harvest and wash their micro greens before tasting each seed mix.
Lessons that cover everything from life cycles to nutrition, and even include a snack, make me happy. Thanks for supporting my classroom and my kids - that makes me happy too.”
Your donation has been so appreciated in my classroom. When the math manipulative center arrived, the students were so intrigued to see what was in the box. When we opened it up, they were incredibly excited to have new all of the new resources to use in math. We couldn't wait to get started!
We are using the resources daily during our math instruction. We have used the counters whole class to assist with their understanding of different concepts, and students who are struggling with certain operations are able to take materials to their seats to aid them with their independent work.
I feel so lucky to have such wonderful materials to use in my class-- it is especially helpful to have enough that each student can use them as I model. I am so excited to continue to use them, and am so grateful for your support.”
This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The STEM materials that you donated have helped create a positive, colorful, and bright learning environment every single day. We've enjoyed using them as we explore kindergarten topics in science, technology, engineering, and math, utilizing the materials as we engage in team-building activities during morning meetings, playing with math centers to practice the daily lesson during independent work time, and even using the various learning labs during our Common Core Math Units!
Our school is currently facing a budget shortfall, so without your help, my students would certainly never have had these vital resources to bring a little more color and joy into their lives! For early elementary students, a love of learning and STEM are vital to developing success later in life. These classroom materials helped facilitate our passion to "grow our brains" as lifelong learners.
Without donors like you, thousands of classrooms in the United States would go without. My students are so blessed to have such generous individuals like yourself invest in THEM and their future! You are truly INCREDIBLE!
Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!! I can't fully express my joy, excitement, and thanks for your donation to my project. As a teacher in West Baltimore City, I struggle to provide my students with technology and materials necessary to enhance their education. It is great to see that you share my vision for reaching ALL children, regardless of location and/or disability.
The tools that you have funded will enable students to learn in an innovative way by combining knowledge from all content areas. In addition, we will be improving the environment and school community!
Thank you so much. I can't wait to introduce these tools to the children in my classroom!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Gersten
