Many of you know how musically talented my wife is and what you might not know is how underfunded music education is in the public schools. I hope you'll have a chance to help fund one of the projects below as I've listed a few projects aligned towards music education in Charlotte along with general non-music projects listed for Harrisburg, NC (only because no music projects were listed).
Please note that all of your donation goes directly to the teacher or project, so thank you and I can't wait to see how my public embarrassment, I mean mustache, can impact the kids.

Many times I have stated how thankful I feel to have had generous people like all of you share in my passion in creating a learning environment that is conducive to all learners. Engaging students with diverse needs is my personal vision and philosophy of teaching. You have all allowed me to engage my students with the ability to interact with our curriculum in another way.
Having a new white board have made it possible for my students to learn in a way that is visual and motivates them to contribute. All of my students have had daily opportunities to share what they are learning using our white board. Not only has it given our class the ability to visually display content by writing on it but, because it is magnetic, we have also been using it to display student made posters.
Again, I appreciate the opportunity that you all have given to my students. Many of my students have already realized the importance of giving. Our student council has made giving back to the community a permanent objective of our school. I believe that you all have given much more than the ability to fund a project; you have demonstrated the importance of altruism.”
I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation to my classroom. The white boards that you donated have helped my students learn to love learning. They love activities with the white boards so much that many of them asked if they could take them home over the summer.
We play games and use the boards to check for understanding. The students love participating in all the activities that went along with our boards. Now instead of hearing, "Ugh. Do we HAVE to do this?" I hear, "Can we do that activity again today? Please!"
Without donors like you this would never have been possible.”
I want to thank you for supporting my classroom project. It is an amazing feeling to receive 25 brand new novels to use with my students. I wanted to draw my students into reading with a novel they could relate to our current society so that they could see how they are a part of history. Developmentally middle schoolers are in a stage where they only see themselves as part of their very small world. It is hard for them to see outside their 'world' and for my students this world is very limited. I hoped to show them that they are a part of a larger community, and they will be asked to contribute in positive ways as active citizens.
My students were so excited to see the brand new books! They couldn't believe it was for them. Seeing the new covers, clean pages, and our class name on the books was enough to get them hooked in the beginning. Then once we started reading they didn't want to stop. They were so proud of this gift because they often feel that they only receive used materials. Their gratitude was more than I could have asked for from them, and I only wish you could have been there to receive their personal thanks. So once again, I would like to thank you on behalf of my students and myself. Please continue to support public education because it is important to building strong communities. And I know personally how greatly educators and students appreciate your support!”
Thank you so much for this wonderful donation. These kids love to sing! I'm thrilled that I can put quality music in their hands because of YOU!! I'm already making plans for their next concert. Now I have music to use for their concert in February and May. Your generous donation means the world to these kids. Thank you again!
Thank you so very much for your generous donation to my classroom. This press has enabled my 6th and 7th students to explore drypoint engraving and linocut prints. It has also allowed my 9th and 10th grade students to explore linocut, woodcut, embossing, and collograph printmaking. The excitement in the air as the students explore all that the press can do is wonderful. From my kindergarteners to my 10th graders, the presence of the press in the classroom gives them another opportunity to express themselves through art.
Several of my past students have come into the art room just to see the press and how it works. They have strongly expressed their desire to use the press the next time they are in their art rotation. In fact, a few have even created plates on their own to run through the press afterschool!
Again, thank you so very much for your donation; it has made such a creative impact on my students.”
Thank you all so very much for your generous donations. I have told my students the true meaning of love is "giving, seeking nothing in return". You all have shown them love in action.
In math the ability to apply concepts, think through problem solving, and be provided immediate feedback is so important for development of sound mathematical thinking and number sense. Your donations for providing my students with white boards so that they can work out word problems, see their thinking clearly, and then make proper corrections in real time helps tremendously. It becomes a constant hands-on experience in problem solving.
I have used white boards in the past and have received positive results in student academic progress. It also keeps students on task as they become immediately responsible for their efforts. My current students look forward to receiving your gifts. Like young eagles they can't wait to explore new and higher heights in math's great sky. We send you all positive energy and give one big thumbs up!”
On behalf of myself and my students, let me extend my sincerest thanks! This rug will be a tremendous benefit to our classroom. It will not only enrich the education of my current students but will be used for years to come. These students deserve the best education possible, and thanks to you, they will have a better one than they had before. Thank you again for your donation”
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for funding my band program's DonorsChoose.org project! Because of you, countless students will experience the joy and excitement of learning to play an instrument. It warms my heart to know that there are people who care about the plight of instrumental music in our public schools. By having this opportunity, my students will be able to play brand new, quality instruments that you have so generously provided. Words can’t express the level of gratitude that I feel, knowing that more children will experience aesthetic and educational effects of being in band. Thank you”
We would like to thank you for your donation. The students that use these instruments will be so excited to perform with new strings. It makes a world of difference in the tone quality of the school instruments. Thank you again for your generosity”
With gratitude,
Mrs. T.
