  • Digital Photography "Life Through a Lens" part 2

    Funded Dec 10, 2008

Thank you so much for funding my project. Our students are hungry to learn, and we need every resource we can get. I can assure you that our students will make the most of this great opportunity. I, as an artist and art teacher, am excited to give my kids a new, culturally relevant tool with which to communicate. I can't thank you enough”

    With gratitude,

  • Batter Up

    Funded Nov 29, 2008

I want to thank you for helping to make this proposal successful. I told my girls about the bats, and they are super-excited for many different reasons. You have touched our lives in a way you will never understand, and you don't even know us! I can never repay your gracious act, but know that you will have a special place in my heart as well as any school softball players' hearts from now on. Thank you again for caring about others as you so graciously have!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Leonard

  • Appalachian History

    Funded Oct 15, 2008

Thank you so much for supporting our school! Because of you, gifted students will have the opportunity for in-depth study of Appalachian history and culture. The nonfiction books you funded are an integral part of a multidisciplinary project. Without your generous contribution, this project would not have been possible. We appreciate your commitment to education”

  • Family Diversity

    Funded Oct 10, 2008

I am so thrilled to have my First Graders receive dolls that represent them and their families and community. Thank you from the bottom of a hard working public elementary school teacher's heart. Your targeted generosity and worldly conscious is deeply appreciated. You will put big smiles on littles ones' faces, and at the same time help build their self esteem. May you have a happy and peaceful Autumn and Holiday season knowing that you helped fund toys that will not only provide hours of fun but also teach the hearts and minds of children in a profound way”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mendivil

  • Wanted: A Small House For A Big Family

    Funded Dec 15, 2008

What a wonderful surprise to have our doll house funded! I recently added people to our block area and my students have been building "block" houses for our families to live in. While using their imaginations is wonderful, their imaginary play will soar with this addition to our classroom. Thank you for your generosity. This dollhouse will be enjoyed and treasured for many years”

  • Building Gardens...Building Community

    Funded Dec 17, 2008

I was so excited to hear that my project was funded. The notice from Donors Choose made my day!

My students are in the heart of the project now, they are almost finished story boarding and writing the narration for their video pod casts. When we get back from Holiday break we will be ready to begin the filming portion of the project.

You will be excited to learn that the video broadcasts will be used as part of our cities Earth Day celebrations. Schools from all over the district have been invited to bring their students to interact with the projects created by students at our school as part of our "Operation Green School"...where we are showing other students how schools can be greener too and how we all have a responsibility to the environment.

Your donation has a far greater impact than just the students in my classroom. This is truly a great gift. Thank you so much! We will use your contribution to benefit the entire school and reach as many students as possible.

    Sincerely,

    Kathy

  • Let's Get Cooking

    Funded Dec 18, 2008

I am so thrilled that our school has received this project. I wrote it, not for myself, but out of a need I saw at my school. When it the proposal had only 5 days left, I forwarded emails to our staff, PTSO, and local businesses about our need. Our community, along with countless others rose to the occasion.

I would personally like to thank you for your support and generosity.

I have already spoken to our custodians and they will be preparing the room for us in January. Once the materials come in, we will select a few art classes to place our school logo on the aprons and chef hats.

We will then make plans once all the materials arrive, to have a dedication ceremony in which various classes will bake "goodies" for our celebration for the school to sample. Classes will post the recipes that they used with their creations to showcase what they made.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you!!

Thank you again.....We can't wait "To Get Cooking!!"”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Casey

  • Keeping Things "Current" in Health

    Funded Oct 24, 2008

I am so grateful to you! There is so much emphasis put on reading and math that enthusiasm and support for health and wellness programs just isn't there. Professionally, I am inspired by your support and my students' learning will be greatly enhanced by the inspiration I feel as well as the materials you have paid for. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

    Gratefully,

    Mrs. ”
