  • Reading Apprentices Need Books

    Funded Dec 19, 2008

Thank you all so very much for your support. I received notice that my project had been funded on the last day of school before Winter Break, so now I have to wait two weeks to tell my students about the generosity of our donors. This means so much to both myself and my students, and we can't wait to start reading. I realize that now, more than ever, it is increasingly difficult for the parents at my school to provide additional materials and resources for students. Your generosity has helped us greatly, and I look forward to using these resources for helping my students become readers for life”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. G.

  • How Far Can We See In Space?

    Funded Oct 14, 2008

I am very excited to be receiving these wonderful tools for my class. I can't wait to tell my students the great news. Even though it is a new school year, I will try and incorporate some students from last year to work on this unit, since I had let them know about the opportunity we might have. I will make sure that the instruments are used for the purpose of instruction and will have great use for them in upcoming years. Thank you very much”

  • Flies! Flies! Flies and How Do They Reproduce and Look!

    Funded Oct 2, 2008

Thank you, Thank you very much. This project will definitely enhance my class 100 fold. I can use all the materials with 2 classes of highly motivated students. This means so much to me as I am becoming speechless as I type this note. Every day is a struggle to assemble high quality labs for my students. I have a large number of students that want to become doctors and succeed at college.

Thank you, thank you so much”

  • Digital Video- The New Age!

    Funded Nov 9, 2008

Thank you for your generous donation! I am extremely honored that you saw fit to contribute to the great things that are going on at Mastery Charter Shoemaker Campus.

Your gift of this laptop enables many things in my classroom. First, it gives students the opportunity to work with new technology that most of them have never had the chance to touch previously. Second, it enables them to learn the art of digital video creation and editing- a skill that they may use in future college and professional lives. Finally, it enables students to take a hand in documenting and preserving the history of the school. Their work will serve as the memories of their formative high school years, as well as memories for the rest of the building!

Our building continues to grow, and our continued success is only possible thanks to tremendously generous donors like you! Thank you again!

    Sincerely,

    Daniel ”

  • (3x4y)+fluency=math success

    Funded Oct 2, 2008

Thank you so much for the generous donation. Many of the students at my school work very hard, but they often have barriers that make learning more challenging. These materials will allow us to provide direct, differentiated instruction that is sequential and allows for engaging practice opportunities.

The supplemental fluency building materials will definitely play an important role in the students development. Already, we are seeing that a lack of fluency with the basic facts in all operations is impeding their progress.

I assure you that these materials will be put to use immediately in several classrooms in 4th and 5th grade. They will make a huge difference in my students' academic success. We cannot thank you enough.

    Sincerely,

    An”

  • At Their Level: Read Books For 2nd Graders

    Funded Oct 11, 2008

Thank you so much for funding my proposal. I was so thrilled to check my email this morning and see that it was fully funded. My lower level students have read the handful of books that are at their level, so this donation will provide a much needed infusion to our classroom library. My students will be ecstatic when I share the news with them on Monday morning that they will be getting these books.

Thank you for your donation. You have made a difference in the lives of my 20 students, and you have provided our class with a quality library of books that I would be unable to afford on my own”

  • Seeing is Believing in Seventh Grade Science

    Funded Oct 2, 2008

Thank you very much for contributing to my classroom. I am so excited about being able to help my students more with visuals. I have many visual learners and the ability to use posters and books will greatly enhance their understanding of science concepts. Science is sometimes difficult for students because they can't touch what we are discussing. Now I can show them a picture or diagram to enhance their understanding. Thanks again for helping me help my students”

  • Kid- Size Video Cameras for 2nd Graders

    Funded Oct 11, 2008

Thank you so much for funding my proposal. I can't wait to share the good news with my students. We have already begun our first movie project of the school year, but it does not include any video. It only has still pictures and scans of pictures. With these cameras we will be able to add video to the projects, as well as document all our activities of this school year, such as the upcoming Halloween parade in three weeks.

Know that you have made a difference in the lives of my second graders.

    Thanks again”
