My students and I thank you for your generosity. Because you chose to give, we were able to have extra copies of the 17 books nominated for the William Allen White Award for the best in children's literature for 2011-2012.
Over the past months, more than 200 students read two or more of the titles nominated and qualified to vote. Voting has begun, and participation is brisk.
Your support gave our students exposure to fine, high quality literature and helped us to further our mission of creating lifelong readers. ”
With gratitude,
Mr. Martin
This classroom project was brought to life by Townsend Press and 14 other donors.
I want to personally thank each and every one of you for donating to the wonderful maps and globes for my classroom. My students were excited to receive the globes and be able to explore and understand the continents, oceans and earth more easily. The maps have been a fantastic visual addition to our classroom as well. Without these items, my students were struggling to understand the concept of the world around them. Now they are engaged in learning about our country and the world.
Thank you for believing in them and giving them the opportunity to learn. We really appreciate your generosity!”
Thank you so much for donating to purchase Weekly Reader for my Kindergarten classroom. My students are learning so much about the world around them and current events through non-fiction this year! Every week they are so excited to read a magazine and take it home to their parents to teach them as well.
Most of my students come from environments where magazines are simply a luxury that they do not have. Your donation has afforded them the opportunity to not only have a magazine, but one at their reading level that they will indeed read again and again. I hope you are able to see their true joy in the pictures of them reading them. When my shipment arrives every month the students ask what our issues look like and what they will be reading about.
So far this year your donation has helped over 28 students in my classroom. The parents are as grateful as I am for your generosity to our students. I still cannot wrap my mind around strangers being as generous as you have been to a teacher whom you have never met. Yyou have helped me and my classroom tremendously this year. These are supplies my students would have done without, but with your selfless gift you have put them into my student's hands.
I know I will never forget the gift that you all have given me and my students. I also know how truly appreciative my students are for your kindness. Thank you so much.”
You would not believe how excited my Pre-K kids were when the huge box from Lakeshore School Supply arrived in our classroom! It was like Christmas! I just had to open it right away. We then went through the items together and I showed the kids what Mrs. S had received from some wonderful people that cared about their learning. They wanted to work with the items right away!
I have started to use some of the math station items at center time. The jewel counting activity/treasure box matching is so bright and colorful that there is always a student at that center. We are going to use the 5 senses science center next week at math/science station time.
These materials are absolutely amazing and I know that they will be used all this school year and many more years to come. Thanks again for helping to fund my project!!! ”
I can not tell you all how much I appreciate your donations! Our students will be so excited to experience these materials as we combine music and reading. It is often said that "you are just the music teacher" and I have say that your confidence in the discipline and my teaching is thrilling. My students are so blessed to have people like you in the world who care whether they learn through integration and fun!
These books will allow my students to become more fluent readers by using the rhythm of the words. They absolutely love to put instruments to books and become the student leaders of a lesson. What a great way to create independence in learning. Once again, thank you all for your donations. It means the world to us!”
I want to thank you, personally, on behalf of my students and the other children in the school who will benefit from your care and generosity. As you know, you chose to help students who have another language than English as their first language. Many of them come from homes with great need, and they often are lacking some important materials needed for school.
With your help and assistance, you have helped to provide some of the basic materials that students need and enjoy to help make them proud of their work. When they enjoy the work they do, when it is displayed in a nice manner, they are proud of their learning, and they are inspired to continue to learn as well as to challenge their learning. This spark of excitement accelerates the learning of content, but it enlivens the conversation and enriches their ability to express themselves, orally and in written form.
The glitter just helps make their learning sparkle even more. You know, glitter makes everything better! And, our room is really sparkling now!
Thank you for your generous support. Thank you for helping my students and others just like them.”
With gratitude,
Ms. H.
