Many of my students have really enjoyed the new experience of starting to learn piano, and the students that already have piano skills will be able to work on improving.

We now have a total of five piano keyboards - and hope to add to this project in the coming school year.

I would like to thank all the donors that contributed to my class project with the Nano Touch Ipod. I started this dance program six years ago with very little equipment. The Ipod has definitely enhanced how I teach my class. It saves so much time in changing music while teaching. With this Ipod I have the ability to save music for future references. I have also saved a lot of money on purchasing and burning CDs.

I have created a tremendous collection which I intend to continue to build in order to serve future students. I cannot thank you enough for your donation and how important it is to my students to feel appreciated. Your donations have helped my classes achieve their goals in a more timely manner.

Thanks to your generous donation to my classroom, my students are able to interact with technology on a daily basis. Our Elmo document camera projects a full-color 3-D image of anything placed under it. All 28 students easily see the large crystal clear picture on our wall screen.

"Elmo" is used multiple times a day in my second grade classroom. We begin with daily math and language review. Later students share their rough drafts and final copies in writer's workshop. During math students explain and model a variety of problem solving strategies using actual items such as coins, base-10 blocks, and rulers. The degree of student engagement and depth of understanding has dramatically increased since "Elmo" has come to our classroom. ”

Dear Donors,

My students are so excited about this project! I have six 6th grade art classes that are creating button pin designs with the supplies that were so generously donated. The theme of the project is "Going Green". In each class we discussed the concept of "going green" and how students could have an impact on parents, classmates and other people in the community through the creation of the button pins. We looked at different examples of clip art that could be used and decided to create some pins with a "going green" theme and some with the school as a theme. Students thought that they would probably be able to sell more buttons to their classmates if the school was represented. We also discussed how to sell the buttons so we could raise money to donate to a local "going green" cause.

The students have decided to donate all proceeds to a school clubs "Tree Planting Project". Students also learned about "point of purchase" displays and created a great display with a large cardboard box. The button pins are going to be sold by the students during lunch and after school. Our goal is $200.00 I am sure we will reach our goal! The kids loved this project and are proudly displaying their work as many of the students decided to buy their own buttons. Thank you so much for your generous donation. This year our school is going through many trials on the city and state level, because most of the students do not speak English as their first language, and they struggle daily with the challenges that they have to face to maintain grade level competency in Math and English. These students then come to the music room and see the equipment you donated and their eyes open wide with excitement and anticipation in learning how to use the drum set, or learning new hand patterns and rhythms on the drum pads with the drumsticks.

The equipment is motivating the students to exercise their math skills as they count out how to play rhythms, and helping their sequencing skills as they learn how to navigate the different parts of a drum set. These skills that they learn in the music room, transfer over to their work in Math and English in their classrooms.

The students of P.S. 128 and I are so appreciative of your generosity that has helped the music department of the school grow and flourish.”

Thank you so much for your generous donations to the music program at Concord Elementary School!! The microphone stands help make sure that my students are clearly heard during our performances! We have many performances throughout the year. The stands have already been used by 4th grades, 5th grades, and will be used soon again by the 4th grades and then the 1st grades, and the kindergarteners for their graduation ceremony!

All schools are facing budget difficulties at this time, and mine is no exception. Without the help of generous people like you, we would not be able to have such useful and high quality materials. In this particular case, my students' hard work on performances would not be as clearly heard. Believe me, this is important to me, the students and our audiences!

Your generous donation to our music classroom has truly made an outstanding impact on my students. It was amazing to see their faces light up with enthusiasm when I announced the news that we were getting a guitar for our classroom!

Each day our music classes begin with the opportunity to sing in a circle together. Our new guitar has created an entirely new dimension to the singing routine at our school! The students absolutely love singing with guitar accompaniment.

Due to the current economy our school is facing many budget cuts.
