Magazines of Our Own Part II
Funded Dec 22, 2009My students are pleased with the READ Magazine. They absolutely love the play that appears in each issue. The students enjoy reading parts orally. It is usually based upon a well known piece of literature. In addition to this, there are other short stories that use the literature elements they are required to master. It is much more interesting to read stories in magazine format.
Every issue focuses on one writing skill. This is very helpful. Learning grammar skills through real-life examples is a powerful experience.
Another feature is the non-fiction piece. This usually relates to the main story in some way. It often focuses on the heritage and traditions of different cultures. Having this learning tool is very much appreciated by both teacher and students. Thank-you for your generosity.”
