"Ms. Teacher, Ms. Teacher, Ms. Teacher, How much have we been funded so far, how much have we been funded so far...?" This is the question I have been asked over and over again for the past few months. My students and their parents, as well as other faculty members and administrators have been so anxious about our "DonorsChoose" adventure. We burst out in cheers when we received the email informing us that our request had been funded. The entire school is looking forward to receiving the books and are so thankful for generous people like yourselves for taking an interest in the education of our youth. We will, for years to come, always think of you, who have given so much and so generously, as we study our poetry unit. Much love, Teacher, Students, Parents, and school”

  • Rainbow Readers & Writers!

    Funded Jan 15, 2008

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I am thrilled to have this grant. School just ended and I sat down at my computer after releasing the children and read the email about my grant being funded! What an awesome way to end the school day.

It is going to be wonderful to be able to implement this grant within my classroom. This will be able to benefit all the children who come through my Kindergarten classroom. I look forward to sharing with you all the wonderful things we will be able to do once we recieve all of our materials! My students will be "Rainbow Readers and Writers" by the end of the school year!

Thank you so much for funding this grant!!!

  • Ready, Set, Listen and Learn!

    Funded Dec 24, 2007

Thank you so much for funding my project! This project will enable my students to listen on tape, while following and reading on their own, to some of their favorite stories. I know my students will truly benefit from having this selection of books on tape. Not only will it give them the joy of reading on their own, but it will teach them how to complete a task independently. I cannot wait until the supplies are delivered to see their faces when they put on their headphones and start reading!! And I cannot wait to share with you their expressions of joy through photos! Thanks again! Joan ”

  • A Book in Every Home

    Funded Dec 13, 2007

I will try to put into words how grateful I am for your generous contribution to my middle school project " A Book In Every Home". I am totally amazed that someone that I do not even know would believe in my mission of instilling literacy for enjoyment to my students. I need you to understand that your assistance has helped my classroom in so many ways. My students can now see and believe that people do care and want them to do better. Learning how to enjoy reading should not be a skill but a way of life. Thank you for your role in creating life long learners. I am glad to know that I am not alone.

    Sincerely,

    Jennifer ”

  • Curling Up with a Good Book... in a Metal Chair?

    Funded Dec 9, 2007

Thank you so much for your kind donation. I've been working hard to create a safe and comfortable classroom environment where students can lose themselves in their reading. Your contribution will make it easier for the struggling readers in my classes to curl up with a good book--what child doesn't love a comfortable bean-bag chair?

    Thank you again!

    Best regards,

    Vanessa ”

  • Let's Read!

    Funded Dec 3, 2007

I can't thank you enough for donating books to my classroom! My students will be extremely excited to hear that they have new Accelerated Reader books to check out. It is so beneficial to my students to be able to check out books on their reading level so that they can be successful. I can't wait to receive the books and put them out in our classroom library. The kids faces will light up when they see what you have donated! Thank you so much”

  • Stop! Drop! Listen! Read!

    Funded Nov 30, 2007

This letter does not even begin to express my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom and students. Words cannot even begin to describe what a difference you are making in the lives of so many children. This is not a project that will only benefit the students I have right now. Your gift is truly a gift that will continue to give every year. I can't wait to see the look on the children's faces when they see all of the wonderful new books for them to use. Expanding my classroom library of books on tape will now allow me to send home books and cassette players with those students who are struggling with reading. Thank you again. I will be in touch with you to let you know how my project is going. I hope you have a very Happy Holiday Season. May God bless you always.

    Sincerely,

    Sarah ”

    Funded Nov 27, 2007

Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students and I are very excited that we will soon be receiving these books! With your donation, you will be fostering a love for reading in my classroom. My boys have gone through many of the books in my library and are looking for new ones. I need these interesting books to fight the draw of video games. I'm sure these books will be a great hit with my class. Thank you again for supporting teachers”

  • Listen and Read to Succeed

    Funded Nov 27, 2007

Thank you so much for funding this project. Teachers and students have been trying to find ways to make it possible for students to listen to our audio books independently. Your donation fills such a great need. Now our students will be able to read books on and above their grade level with their peers and independently to improve their reading skills. Our entire school is impacted by these devices but our special education and middle school students will benefit so much”
