Adam Lambert has requested that his fans donate to Donor's Choose rather than give him gifts while on tour. Adam has commented that music and arts programs are always the first to suffer from cutbacks. The focus of this giving page is on music and arts in honor of Adam Lambert's outstanding vocal talent and creativity.
Thank you all for giving in order to benefit these students. We are so glad that so many people were a part of this project. You worked together in harmony to help us make our music better. That is a great lesson and example for these kids.
The kids will be able to hear true sound reproduction and know what their instrument should sound like when played well. This tool will help our kids move to the next level in their studies. Thank you for helping us provide high quality instruction and resources to these children. ”
Thank you so much for your donations to our Music Stand project. I am thrilled to know that you and I have the same understanding of the needs of student musicians.
The equipment you have funded will have an immediate impact on the way my students practice and perform. They will no longer have to worry about the constant disruptions caused by the faulty music stands. They will now be able to focus on making quality music and I will be able to focus on quality instruction.
Thank you so much for your commitment to the arts! I can't wait to introduce the new equipment to the students.”
Our class is so grateful for this project! Thank you! The students have been able to use the aprons and the spill proof painting cups to paint. These have been very helpful, helping make painting fun and mess free. With 33 students, the drying rack has also been very helpful! Our students performed a song for our two-way dual immersion program. They were little flowers. Students painted each of their own flowers with glitter and were able to dry them on the drying rack. All 33 flowers full of wet paint and glitter fit on the drying rack! This helped our students look amazing for our performance. Students have also painted the front covers to their ocean books for our unit. All 33 books fit perfectly in our drying rack and made drying and storing the books so much easier for students. We no longer have to dry our projects along tables or floors!
These materials would not have been available in our classroom without your help. Thank you for helping make painting and learning more fun and accessible to students!”

Words can't begin to express how much these materials have helped to support my students! They love taking pictures, posing for pictures, and viewing the pictures once they are snapped. To see their faces light up when they have learned a new skill, and to be able to capture that moment to share with their families has been a great resource.
They have found new things everyday for us to take pictures of, and to draw pictures of, and this is all thanks to your generosity and your desire to help support children and education. Thank you for all you have done to assist in increasing new ways of learning within my classroom, and for all I know you will do in the future to support quality, diversified, education.”
I want to share my sincerest gratitude and appreciation for the clay tools that you have helped to provide. As of today, both 7th and 8th grade classes have started a project with them. It is amazing how much more we can do with clay now with access to such a variety of clay tools. It's also a great message for my students to be able to tell them that anononymous donors helped to fund our art projects because they believe that you deserve them. It always amazes me, with Donor's Choose, how selfless you all are in giving your money to fund students and classrooms you've never met. I am endlessly grateful.
Currently, the 7th graders are creating a clay sculpture using knowledge learned about Pop Art. They have each chosen an objects that symbolizes their popular culture. Looking through our in progress sculptures, you will see a giant crayon, some sort of video game, a box of popcorn, a pie, a bag of chips, and a giant burrito. They are doing an awesome job creating clay sculptures inspired by the Pop Artists of the 1960's. The 8th graders have come up with theme to create a clay box. They will use their theme (anything from Michael Jackson to candy) to create a clay box with symbols inspired by their themes.
Again, thank you so much for making this and many more projects possible! It could not happen without your sincere generosity.”
My students have been documenting their experiences in class! Some of the things we have done are in the uploaded photos. They built a vegetable garden all by themselves and have been taking pictures and collecting data. I bought the materials and the measured, planned, built, and planted themselves. We planted lettuce, broccoli, and cucumbers. We have a door that is called "Paparazzi Pictures" where students can write their thoughts in their speech bubble next to their picture about a certain topic. Also, they wrote and illustrated a biography on Leonardo da Vinci. They included a picture of themselves dressed as Mona Lisa in front of a backdrop that they painted themselves. Also included was an oil pastel painting of their "self-portrait" as Mona Lisa. They also took pictures on different field trips we took. One picture that was uploaded was interviewing historic people at the Renaissance Festival and another was making polymers at the Louisiana Arts and Science Museum.
Thanks again for investing in such wonderful students who wouldn't have had these opportunities otherwise!”
Thank you so much for choosing to support our art program in our k-8 classes. Our students will be thrilled to have tracing paper, colored pencils and their own sketchbooks! The Early Art History posters will be wonderful teaching aids to display in our art classroom. Our students are second language learners and these materials will help them to become literate English speakers as well as budding artists. You are helping many Early Art History Detectives begin their journey back into art history! Thanks!”

I want to thank you again for your generosity in helping my students with this project. My students were very excited to get our scrapbook underway. It's wonderful to see my students be creativity with a project that they will cherish for years to come.
I know from experience since my son and daughter still pull their scrapbooks out from 1st grade. As a parent it is a great joy to see how much they have grown since then. This project is my all time favorite because it allows my students to express themselves and I don't have to give them a grade.
Therefore, I appreciate your help in making this project real for my students. You all have helped 18 students never forget 1st grade!”

There aren't any words in the English language that can truly describe the way your generosities have affected the minds and lives of our children. The words "thank you" are so inadequate in expressing our genuine gratitude. Even though the microphones did not come in time to be used during the actual performance of The Wiz, we as a performing arts elementary school have and will continue to use the cordless microphones in various areas of entertainment. Thus far, we have used them during our town hall meetings. Town hall meetings are held every Friday in our gymnasium. It's when the school, as a community, assembles together. Each week a different class is assigned to host the town hall meeting. Town hall presentations sometimes involve musical performances, choral readings, dramatizations and other forms of performing arts. We will also use them during assembly performances, musical concerts and other venues of art cultivation. Our children's self confidence and self esteem have elevated to new heights. If it wasn't for generous people such as yourselves, our school would not be able to offer our children a balanced developmental curriculum, one enriched with the cultural arts. I applaud you all for the hearts of gold that you possess. May you be blessed as you have surely blessed others.”
Thank you so much for your support of this project and of our theater program. Your donation has enabled us to purchase a second spotlight for use with our two shows each year, as well as with other programs in our school, including choir concerts, talent show, etc. Prior to this, we had to rent spotlights for every program, resulting in a great expense. This money could have been, and will now be able to be, used for other needs, including costumes, makeup, sets, royalties, etc. Furthermore, having our own spotlights means that we are not at the mercy of sometimes unreliable equipment, and a limited window in which we are able to rehearse with the equipment. By having our own spotlights, we are able to train students in their use throughout the year, making them more skilled technicians, giving them skills that they will be able to take with them as they move forward in their work in the arts.
Thank you again for your support. Your help is greatly appreciated!”
