This is just a small way to show my appreciation for your donation made to help support my classroom. The students really the love karaoke machine supplies you donated to my classroom. Their personalities reveal themselves when I turn on the machine and hand off the microphones. We use the karaoke machine to practice reading songs, to amplify reader's theater presentations, to sing our hearts out, and just to unwind on a Friday afternoon. The extra CDs, instruments, and ribbons add to the students' creativity and enjoyment.

Extra luxuries, such as this, cannot always be provided for every classroom in our school, which is why your participation in programs like DonorsChoose is so important. Without your help, my students would not have had the opportunity to play, grow, and learn with this useful machine. Reading and fluency are vital skills the students will need for the rest of their lives, and you helped instill a love for both of them.

I cannot thank you enough for choosing to fund our music repertoire project. The music that you helped purchase for our student resource center has been a great hit. We were able to purchase vocal solo and ensemble music for my students to explore for solo contests and college auditions. The repertoire books include - American Art Songs, Spirituals, Opera, Classical and Sacrred songs. They introduce songs in English, Italian, German, French and Spanish. My students have also begun using the resources to select songs for our upcoming solo festival in April. Having access to these resources has been exciting for my students. Many of the books came with performance CDs that my students find exciting to listen to as they are selecting music to perform. They have found the music compelling and appropriate for their various levels of music ability.”

Thank-you so much for your generosity towards my students and my music program at my school. We are a low income school and the current unemployment rate has hit our students' families very hard. This trombone will allow me to give the gift of music to one more needy student. Ricardo has been playing the clarinet for 2 years, and his clarinet needed repairs, so he is no using the one that all of you donated. He is one of my best players and is looking forward to playing in a high school band in 2 years. Thank you for your donation to "Ukulele Books!" Your donation has purchased 25 ukulele books which have been used by general music students at a public school. Using material contained in these books, students learned how to hold the instruments, how to strum, how to play 3 basic chords, and they learned singing accompaniment skills as they sang songs contained in the book.

Playing the ukulele allows students to develop musical skills of singing and performing on an instrument while interacting socially with peers through singing. This makes the ukulele an especially enjoyable instrument for young students. Thank you for your donation! The books will be used and enjoyed by students for years.”
