We took our cameras out of the box the other day and I wish you could have been there to see and feel the excitement of the children. Some had a little knowledge of cameras but most said that their parents had a camera but they were not allowed to touch them. The children cannot believe that I am going to let them use them!
We have practiced holding them and passing them to a partner without dropping them. Our next step is to take a walk with our cameras to find art in nature. With the changing of the seasons, this is my favorite time of the year to take pictures.
Your generous donation will allow me to take our art education to a new level. Our programs are going through a tough time now with budget cuts and it is through grants like DonorsChoose that enable us to do the extra things that we wouldn't normally be able to do. I cannot thank you enough!”
Thank you so much for making all of this possible. We had our gallery opening in June and it was a popular event at our school. My students were proud to have their work displayed and to have their friends and teachers come and see it at a celebration that included live music and dancing.
This will become an art room tradition, an exhibition at the end of each semester. It has been very exciting for me to see how much people care about the arts and our kids and to host The Classroom Gallery Scene. Once again, my students and I are grateful for your generosity and your belief in the importance of art.”
I can not fully express my gratitude and thanks for your donation to my project! It is wonderful to see that others share my vision of music education. In music it is sometimes difficult for students to learn a new musical language.
The tools that you have funded will allow students to create and interpret the written language of music. My students will learn notes, rests, and other symbols in order to create music and allow them to express themselves with music. In addition, I will be able to demonstrate musical organization and make sure that everyone understands where I am on the page.
I will share my teaching with my colleagues as my students love to show off what they have learned with other teachers!”
Thank you very much for your contributions! Your donations made sure that we were able to complete our music video project. We had a fun time completing out project. By putting our performances on video it allowed us to share it with our staff, parents, community members, and other non-chorus members.
With the purchased equipments, we were able to film on a professional level, especially with our sound. Due to safety concerns for the students, I was unable to obtain permission from my principals to place the video clip online. However all the participants were given a copy of the DVD so they may share it with their peers.
Thank you again for your donations and time you've spent on this project. I was able to extract a few shots from the video project, "We Go Together" from the movie Grease. I hope you'll enjoy them”
On behalf of our humble mariachi, I would like to thank you for your generous donations. Your contribution made it possible for the kids to go on the mariachi end of year trip.
For a lot of the kids, they had never been to Disneyland. Most importantly, they had never seen a professional mariachi. As I was sitting at our table, I was looking down the line and their eyes were glued to the entertainers on stage. A couple of times, the mariachi played two of the songs that the kids had been playing. My ears were hurting because the kids were screaming in joy. It was like being at a rock concert!
After the show, the kids were extremely excited and could not wait to get home and to practice even harder. The May 26th&27th concert were the best performances that the kids ever had. After the student's concert the tears flowed because it was their last concert.
I can not thank you enough for your contributions and thank you for the joy that you helped to bring to these kids.”

Thank you once again for contributing to my project that had an impact on hundreds of students. Because of your generous donations, I was able to provide my students with an assortment of high quality art supplies and materials to finish out the school year. The students appreciated using the color sticks, markers, water colors, textured rubbing plates, art wire, and assorted papers to create amazing art pieces. Within the art making process, students experienced the acts of giving and receiving as they made artist trading cards that they exchanged with one another. (They absolutely LOVED designing and creating unique and individual trading cards). We were even able to make bracelets for Mother's Day gifts!
This had been a difficult year on many levels. But having had to face the budget cuts that would not be able to provide the students with the tools and materials they need to learn, thrive, and grow was potentially devastating. Thanks to all of you, my students did not experience this loss, and they were given an opportunity for a rich and engaging art experience with the materials and supplies you provided for them. I am very grateful for your generosity. ”

On behalf of my students, I would like to express our gratitude for funding the purchase of a video camera. Although the video camera arrived too late for me to complete my planned project, I have shared it with other staff members who have used it to record student presentations. Currently I have assigned a pilot project to two of my students to create a video presentation on a civil rights topic of their choice. These videos will be presented to their classmates as a part of our unit on civil rights in 10th grade U.S. History.
This video camera will give my students an additional way to make presentations and will address needed 21st Century skills. Without your generosity, out school, during this time of budget constraints, would not have been able to provide this vital resource to our intercity students.
Thank you for your commitment to our kids and our future.”

I have just received the new laptop computer you provided with your generous donations. I am grateful that you understood my proposal, and agreed that innovation and technology are essential for today's energetic crop of children. I plan to use this computer not only to help create and plan lessons for my interactive whiteboard, but also to help me show the children the mobile nature of information.
I will send you some of the kids thank you letters soon. I'll also try and show you some pictures, but they won't do justice to the awesome gift you have provided.
Thank you so much for donating to Music Moves Minds. My students love our new Dr. Jean CDs. Their favorite song is the Tooty-Ta. When we need a "brain break", we put on Dr. Jean for a little silly time. We sing and dance together. Then, the students reenter their assignments refreshed and ready to learn. We also enjoy the songs that correlate with what we are learning. They love Dr. Jean's song about the planets. We used that one during our recent space unit! I love using her website to learn movements to the songs that I teach to my students. Students learn so much more when they are up moving. Dr. Jean allows us to get up and move. We get to sing too which is great for my auditory learners. These wonderful CDs enhance learning for all styles of learners. They are great for students of all ages too. We have shared our new treasures with several other classes in our building. Everyone loves Dr. Jean! We especially have enjoyed having them on rainy spring days. When we can't go outside for recess, Dr. Jean comes to the rescue! Even on a cloudy day, students' faces light up!
We appreciate your kindness and are enjoying your wonderful gift everyday! We love learning new songs and dances. Thank you for making learning fun in our room! The music definitely helps move our bodies and minds!”
Thank you so much for funding my project! Students love using the activity scarves in our classroom. We have been dancing to our Dr. Jean Cd's, using our bells (from another donorschoose project) to follow the beat and rhythm of the music. The rhythm sticks were especially useful during our dragon parade we had in January. Having these instruments and materials is increasing my students oral language and vocabulary skills! I cannot express in words how happy you've made me and my students. Thank you so much for giving my Kindergarten students opportunities they otherwise would not have! Your kindness and generosity inspires me to be a better teacher, thank you again.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Walstrom
