    Funded Dec 27, 2007

Happy New Year! Thank you so much for your generous gift; I am personally so thrilled to be able to tell my students that our project is back on (minus photocopies!) when they arrive later today. This is wonderful news and a terrific catalyst for a cold January, as many of them will not be trilled about returning to school. Many of my students (with the legal diagnosis of "behaviorally disordered") consider themselves "bad" and unworthy of new or high-quality school supplies. We are a small site and frequently get 'hand-me-down' textbooks, workbooks, etc. Your gift will impact not only the academic and literacy skills of our students, but their self-esteem as well. I am professionally in debt to you, and personally grateful. Thank you, thank you, thank you”

  • We Can't Read These Books!

    Funded Dec 3, 2007

When I applied for DonorsChoose for these high interest, low level books I was crossing my fingers that it would be approved. I am so thankful that someone was kind and generous enough to support us in our endeavor to create lifelong learners and readers. Thank you so much for your generosity. I can't wait to see the look on my students' faces when they see their new books!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

    Sincerely,

  • Library Books For Future Hope College Graduates

    Funded Nov 20, 2007

This is Ms. Emily V and I just found out my students project has been fully funded. Thank you so much. How ironic that I received this information on Thanksgiving. I cannot wait to tell my students the good news on Monday. They are going to be so excited. I'm excited to see how happy they will be. My 5th graders helped me put together the proposal, I think this is a very empowering experience for them. Thanks again.

    Happy Thanksgiving.

  • Literature Magic Speaks to Students

    Funded Nov 12, 2007

I wish to sincerely thank all of the contributors that made this project a realization for my students. I am thrilled that I will be able to infuse experiences to my students through this literature. I hope to foster a love for reading. With these materials I will be able to build much needed skills that currently my students don't have the opportunity to develop for lack of adequate literature. Many, many thanks! You have made the lives of many children better by your donations.

    Sincerely,

A dedicated 3rd grade teacher Ms. A D and all of her student”

Thank you very much for funding the rug for my kindergarten classroom. Words cannot express how grateful I am and how grateful my students will be when the class receives the rug. You cannot imagine what a difference you will make in our learning experiences.

  • I Love Non-Fiction! Mentor Texts for my 2nd Graders.

    Funded Nov 12, 2007

Thank you so much for funding my "I Love Non-Fiction!" proposal. My students will love these accessible, kid-friendly mentor texts. Using the spunky How-To books as guides, my students will know how to add voice to their instructions. The animal books are perfect examples of what I want students to write themselves. They are colorful, engaging, and have all the non-fiction text features I expect my students to include in their own "All About" books, such as diagrams, glossaries, and bold-faced key words.

Without your sponsorship, I would not be able to provide my students with such high-quality and diverse mentor texts.

I can't wait for the materials to arrive!

    Sincerely,

    Jasmine ”

  • Author Immersion

    Funded Nov 12, 2007

Thank you so much for providing our classroom with these books. I cannot wait to begin the new unit on Ezra Jack Keats. Now every student will have a chance to fully immerse themselves in his work. You have given us materials that will truly inspire the writers within each and every one of my students.

Once again, thank you for your generosity.

    Sincerely,

    Ms. ”

  • Help My Kids Choose Their Books!

    Funded Nov 12, 2007

Thank you for donating such a wonderful gift to my classroom library. My students will be so excited to have books they love. I know a few students who continue to struggle to find books to read. This new group of books is certain to find happy homes with some of them. Books are such a wonderful gift because they give students the chance to imagine other places and people. Books allow my students to see beyond where they are right now. I am so excited to share these books and these worlds with my students. Thank you for your generosity
