  • Centers, Centers, and More Centers!!!!

    Funded Jul 21, 2010

The students in my class have had such a wonderful experience with the materials you helped provide. They use them on a daily basis during our literacy center rotation. It took some training to get them use to how to use the centers properly, but that is part of the process.

It is so important for kindergrtners to have hands on experiences in their learning. So many of them still need the concrete to grasp the concepts. The centers you helped fund provide them with those experiences. They are able to learn the same concept but in many different ways. Since not all children learn the same way, this process helps insure that we reach each and every child.

Thank you again for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Battles

  • We L-O-V-E Books!!

    Funded Jun 15, 2010

The students in my class have enjoyed the books tremendously! They continue to ask to read, read, read!

Reading is such an important part of a child's education process. It helps expand their vocabulary and expose them to experiences they might not ever have. By donating to this project, you have made it possible to give these students the chance to work on their fluency, expand their vocabulary, and to be exposed to experiences through books.

Thank you for your generosity! I am pleased to know that their are people that care so much about the education of our future leaders of tomorrow.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Battles

  • Tag, You're Reading II

    Funded Oct 25, 2010

Thank you all so much for your support of my project. The additional books for the Tag Reader from Leap Frog have encouraged my students to read in the classroom and at home as well. The new titles are from movies and characters they know and love. They have taken these stories and characters they read about in class and found other titles by the same authors. They are using the Tag Readers to help them with words they don't recognize and using them to increase their reading fluency as well. It is wonderful to see their progress in becoming fluent readers. Your generous donations have opened up the wonder of reading for all of my students. Thank You!

  • Fishing For Books

    Funded Jun 23, 2010

I would like to take the time to update you on your generous gift to our class. We truly appreciate the books you donate to our class. The students enjoyed reading the books. The students loved predicting what would happen next, They all laughed when they read about the training manual on the dragons.

We have not yet seen the movie to compare and contrast the book and the movie as a whole class. I did have a group of my students that read the book and went to the movie compare the two. They were quite surprised to notice how many things were different. I had several comment that they expected the movie to be different. Now they want to read the other books in the series to find out if the movie was about all the books. Thank you for your role in helping my students enjoy reading for pleasure.

I am so grateful that you have taken the time to donate to our class. Your generosity is highly appreciated.”

  • Reading and Math Centers

    Funded Dec 5, 2010

Our materials came just in time for our unit on fractions. I was so excited to be able to use the literacy book to introduce this concept to my students. We were also able to use the resources in the center to do some hands on activities.

My students also love the math centers that they can take to their seats. They are so helpful when I have to work with particular students who need extra help with a concept. The students are sp excited when they finish their work and are able to use them.

Thank you for your help in getting this project completed. My students and I are truly appreciated of your kindness and support”

  • Drama, Drama... What Fun For Kinder

    Funded Nov 26, 2010

My students have had such an awesome time with the dress up clothes. We are trying to push careers this year. We want our kids to aim high with their dreams. During their center time, it is nice to listen to their conversations on what they want to be when they grow up. You have helped provide an environment that gives them a chance to "pretend," think about their future and have fun at the same time. It is never to early to get our kids thinking about their future. So many of our students will probably be first generation college graduates. We want them to know that is a goal they can have and achieve.

Again, thank you so much for giving them an opportunity to explore their options through pretend play.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Battles

  • Leaping into Learning

    Funded Nov 4, 2010

Words can not express the gratitude I feel for your giving nature. Because of you kindness, my students will be able to utilize modern technology that very few of them have ever had access to. The funded materials will provide five and six year old students with the ability to become independent readers and/or learners.

The Tag School Reader system and books will help them build their letter identification and letter sounds which in turn will expand the student's vocabulary. In addition, the rechargeable batteries and chargers will provide ensure that the items will always be in great operational condition for the students at all times.

Thank you again and again for helping contribute to the educational success of my students. You have tremendously made a strong impact on the future of 23 Kindergarten children with limited resources. You both have been a blessing to my students and me.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Y. Garza

  • Books!!!!

    Funded Nov 4, 2010

This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The students have begun to read our new books and are commenting on how much they enjoy them. They are being exposed to different authors as well as being given the opportunity of a different variety of genre. The books came in just in time for us to enjoy before Christmas and as my students expressed, "we got an early Christmas present."

As soon as the students walked in yesterday from Christmas break their first question was, "can we get a new book from the shelf."”

  • Tag, You're Reading

    Funded Jun 29, 2010

Thank you so much for your donations to my project. I am humbled by your generosity and with your support of literacy in the classroom. The Tag Reader is a tool that inspires my students to read. It helps them with words they don't know and increases their fluency.

It is a fun tool and easily mastered. My students use this tool as an introduction to reading. The books that accompany tag readers are filled with familiar characters that they know and love. Thank you so much!

  • New Year, New Supplies

    Funded Jul 8, 2010

I want to thank you all for your generous donations to my project. Your donations allowed my students to begin the new year with the basic supplies that most children take for granted. I am awed and humbled by your gift and your interest in promoting literacy. It was wonderful to be able to give each student their own supplies and to see how proud they were to have the tools they need to do well in school. My students were able to focus on learning and didn't have to worry about the tools they need to succeed.

    Sincerely,

    Ms. estrada”
