  • Wanted: Versatiles for Reading Comprehension

    Funded Nov 16, 2021

Thank you so much for once again supporting my classroom. The addition of the Versatiles kits has ramped up our reading block. Students are able to work together on reading skills and check their work-all while I'm working with other students. The best part is that my students enjoy using the Versatiles kits and often choose to use them when they have finished their work. It thrills me to see my students working together again and helping each other be successful.

Thank you again for your continued support!”

  • Give the Gift of Dance! Materials Needed!

    Funded Nov 6, 2021

Thank you so much for our new resources. The students were excited and grateful for you donations. They will use them for our upcoming concert that we have been working hard to put together. Thank you for helping the arts succeed in our school. I appreciate you giving my students a chance to express themselves through dance. They really love dancing and it gives them something to look forward to while at school. I believe that dance can help students through a lot of the emotional toll the last year has taken on them! Thanks again for your generosity!”

  • Picture It, A Picture Book!

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

We are absolutely excited to add these engaging and fun picture books to our media center. Students will be able to check these books out to take home and enjoy. Teachers will also be able to check the books out to read to their entire class during whole group read alouds on the carpet. There is nothing better than a fun book that makes you laugh and predict excitedly what will happen on the next page. Thank you again for supporting our students and their love for reading. We truly appreciate your support of education in general.”

Thank you all so much for blessing my students with the gift of Reading! We can't wait to get them and compare Roz the robot's wild ride with our recent wild ride of a school year. Your kindness and generosity does not go unnoticed or appreciated. Thank YOU!”

  • Cheer Life

    Funded Sep 8, 2021

Thank you for supporting my girls in the sport of cheerleading. These turtlenecks will help them stay warm during those cold and damp football games. We don't want any excuses not to cheer for our Spartans. You have helped me check one more thing off of our list of needs. I want us to look like a team from head-to-toe. My girls and parents thank you for taking some of the financial burdens off of them. We are working hard to be great on and off the court. Your support is a huge WIN in our book. Thanks and thanks and thanks again.”

  • A Book in EVERY Hand!

    Funded Jun 28, 2017

Thank you so much for this set of novels! The Cold War is a difficult content area for students to grasp. Reading the novel "A Night Divided" has proved to be the perfect connection to our Social Studies instruction. My kids were gripped with intrigue as they read this book and gasps could be heard throughout the chapters. Often, Reading novels is frowned upon in classrooms, but I believe novel studies enhance the learning more than anything I could do. This novel brought the Cold War to life for my students. Thank you for your impact on not only their knowledge of the content but for preserving their joy of reading.”

  • Epic Lego Wall

    Funded Jul 19, 2017

Thank you for allowing me to share a project with the Media Center at out school. The librarian met with me and wanted to add more STEM activities in the library than just checking out books. She expressed her want to give kids a chance to create and explore. After talking, we came up with the idea of a Lego Wall. We are currently waiting on district approval to put the wall up. This hasn't stopped the librarian from allowing students during related arts time to create and explore. Students love creating and explaining what they are creating to other groups. Many STEM activities are used with the legos.”

  • Pick A Spot That Makes Your Brain Hot!

    Funded Nov 19, 2017

Thank you again for allowing me to transform my classroom to benefit my students. Students now feel empowered by having some degree of choice and control over their environment. Flexible seating allows students to choose where they work and with whom. It also allows them to change their location and positions as needed, however they feel most comfortable. Children need to move, especially 6 and 7 year old children. Flexible seating allows them to wobble, rock, bounce, lean or stand, which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow and core strength. It also helps keep young minds more alert and focused.

My students were so excited when they saw our new seating arrangement. They could not believe that they would actually have the choice in which seat they wanted for the day! The bright colors of our new furniture also make our classroom more inviting. After trying out our new seats, all of my students were so excited to not have to sit in our hard chairs anymore (unless that is their choice, of course).

I have definitely noticed a difference in the way students interact with each other, in the way that they work, their attention span and their overall excitement for learning. Thank you again for blessing my students with comfort within our classroom. You have changed the way that they view school.”

  • Tolerance for All!

    Funded Jun 29, 2017

thank you so much for your amazing support! I appreciate everything you did to help my classroom get materials they needed. I was able to teach my students about tolerance using books such as Dr. Seuss books and Separate Is Never Equal by Sylvia Mendez. Even though my students didn't have experience or exposure to different situations in their community. I was able to demonstrate and model tolerance and compassion to others. My students were able to learn about tolerance. I was able to model through books that people have different opinions and ideas and demonstrate how people and characters deal with those situations. My students enjoy read alouds in class which is why I am requesting these books. In addition to this, I would like to create art activities that connect to tolerance. This is why I requested arts and crafts materials and a cricut air machine that allowed my students to create art activities that will help them learn more about tolerance. Thank you so much for your support. Happy Holidays!”

  • Look Sharp!

    Funded Aug 12, 2017

We are so grateful for your donations to our classroom. Our electric pencil sharpener was on its last legs. This new one sharpens so quickly and easily. It's wonderful!

The wobble stool is by far the favorite flexible seating choice in our classroom. It helps those students who need to move while working to be able to focus and stay on task. Because it naturally wobbles, students are safely able to wiggle. I don't have to worry about them tipping over in a chair or on traditional stool. We rotate which students get to choose their seating first, so everyone gets a chance. The wobble stool is almost always the first choice.

Thank you so much for your generosity. My students are very appreciative!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Taylor
