  • "Loads" of Love

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

Our students and staff were deeply touched by your generosity. You gave our school a much needed resource and showed our school how thoughtful and giving people can be! The washer and dryer have had a huge impact on our school. The pair has already seen heavy use in its short time at our school.

Thanks to your generosity, we now have a way to launder clothes for students who need help. Helping students have clean, fresh clothes to wear makes such a difference in their self esteem. Thankfully, students and families in need now have access to help.

Washing clothes for students is way we can show them that they matter, we love them, and they can trust us to help. We really do provide loads of love! Although helping students and families in need was the top priority, our entire school has benefited from having a washer and dryer!

Our custodial staff is very grateful because they can wash and dry their cleaning cloths, dust mops, and towels daily!

Accidents do happen! Thankfully, we can wash clothes for children rather than sending home messy clothes. This means a lot less embarrassment and it is much cleaner.

Our EC department is able to wash their much needed supplies and also provide clean clothes for EC students who might need them throughout the day.

Our community youth league coaches can wash uniforms for students now too!

We have a donations closet. Donated and borrowed clothing can now be washed at school before it is provided for students. Students love receiving clothes that smell good!

There are always clothes being found on the playground. Often these coats, gloves, hats, etc... are very dirty. Now, they can be washed before being put in the lost and found.

Teachers no longer have to take laundry home with them to wash for students!

I am overjoyed by your kindness that made this project happen.. We are in the business of meeting the needs of our students but we often need help. Thank you for helping us do more for our students and providing this incredible resource!!๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Šโ€

  • Lego My Imagination

    Funded Feb 16, 2020

Because of the Covid - 19 I am unable to provide pictures or Thank you letters until the Fall of next year if we are allowed to return to school. We were dismissed from class before we were able to work with the legos. Hopefully we will be able to return in the fall and at that time I will be able to show the students and have the thank you letters mailed to you. Please know that this is a difficult time for all teachers and students.

Thank you so much for your kindness and for funding my project.โ€

  • Comfy Sleeping Cots

    Funded Feb 3, 2020

Thank you so much for giving to our project "Comfy Cots", each student now has a slightly elevated off the floor place to rest during quiet time and students are enjoying it!

The cots prior to COVID were being used daily for quiet time. Students were able to grab their favorite stuffed animal, storybook or just themselves and their blankets and lay down on their individual cots during quiet time daily in the classroom.

Students prior to the arrival of the cots were super excited about them and remained on the lookout for their arrival. On the day of arrival, the students were resting already, but when they awoke from quiet time, immediately everyone noted the new arrival.

The next morning, students talked about quiet time with new levels of excitement and wanting to try out their cots.

Every student took great pride in their new comfy cot and rested that day. Students also further learned how these cots will last for years to come. Some who will return next school year will utilize the cots again and those moving on, will leave cots for new friends who will join the class.

We thank each of you for giving to our project!โ€

  • Pre-School Work Task Boxes

    Funded Dec 4, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous contribution that helped with the successful set up of new fine motor tasks. It's always rewarding to see the excitement in the eyes of students when they walk in to new materials to use.

Upon successfully set up of new fine motor stations, I was able to see gains in three areas:

    -attending to task skills

    -improved bilateral hand coordination skills

-improved three finger and four finger grasp patterns.

Overall I was able to see a 4-5 minute increase in students attention during the new task. Improved bilateral coordination and fine motor skills increased the overall accuracy of the students performance with task.

Again many thanks for your support!โ€

  • Just Right Book Cart

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

Thank you so much for funding our class project. We were able to purchase a mobile book cart. We have a lot of books in our classroom. This cart helps us organize our books so that the students are never too far away from a great book.

The students were so excited to see the new cart. They can take a bin and bring it to a table to share with friends. They can take a book and go to their favorite reading spot. We have a classroom library but the shelves are a little too high for our little learners. The book card puts the books at the right height so they can reach the materials.

We were also able to use the cart to store our class iPads. Keeping them with the books has helped establish that iPads are instructional tools. Next month, we will store books that we made at home in the cart so that the students can share their writing work with others.โ€

  • Quality Therapeutic Services: Part One

    Funded Dec 6, 2019

When it comes to play, there is not age limit. Play is a universal language; we all do it. Being able to provide new toys and crafts to the students I service has been amazing. The kids come in and find something new and say, "Is this from the people who care?" and I say, "Yes". They love that there are people who do not not know them and yet want to help them.

It was like Christmas, after Christmas! I waited to open boxes with the kids as they came to group so they could experience. They could not wait to get to play with the dolls and houses. My artist have been drawing amazing pictures and stories about their emotions and life.

This has been an amazing experience not just for the children but for me too.โ€

  • Quality Therapeutic Services: Part Two

    Funded Dec 4, 2019

I am in awe! Thank you so much for you kindness and support. My students had so much fun opening boxes and seeing what new books and items we had for the space. They could not believe that everything was a gift for them! I've used these new books to normalize and teach emotions and problem solving. These books allow for the students to gain appropriate language and expand emotional language. We're currently using stories to discuss how our actions and emotions might effect how others view us.

In my office, I typically have a book or topic in mind prior to meeting with students. Sometimes, they are allowed to choose if we have extra time. Growing up with a mother who was an educator, reading has always had a special place in my heart. So having a variety of books to choose from is important.

My students enjoy acting out the books or "re-writing" books. By allowing students to use their own creatives juices, they are more excited about books. Student also like work books where they can process their feelings and emotions in a non judgmental space.โ€

  • So Fresh, So Clean

    Funded Jan 10, 2020

I am so happy to write this thank you letter. Receiving the donated items was such a joy. My students were excited to open the boxes with me. Sharing about my project with them gave me an opportunity to explain just a little bit about what we do in the Counseling Dept.

We have over 800 students and several are in need of basic items. I have had to tell several students that we didn't have what they needed...that is until now! Just last week, I was able to walk into the closet and give a student a tube of lotion, thanks to your donations! We're currently making hygiene packs so we're prepared for when students request items. I'm more than grateful. God bless!โ€

  • Lunchtime Book Club: Wild Readers Escape!

    Funded Dec 4, 2019

    You did it!

Thank you SO much for allowing each of my 3rd Grade Lunchtime Book Club students to receive his or her very OWN COPY of The Wild Robot Escapes by Peter Brown! When we ended the first book together, the students went crazy wondering what happened to our dearly beloved robot, Roz.

Would she come back to her island and return to her wild life? Or, would she submit to the life she is being forced to live by the RECOs? Because of you, now they can find out!

By looking at the pictures you can see how excited students were about this parting gift. For many of the students, this was the first book they could call their very own. Many of my students told me they went home and started reading immediately. One of the parents told me that her son went to bed reading a book--for the first time ever. THANK YOU for allowing my students' reading lives to continue. YOU ARE AMAZING!โ€

  • Therapy for Our Students Is So Important!

    Funded Dec 18, 2019

Words cannot express the humility in my heart from your generous contributions. You've made my therapy sessions so much more powerful with all these therapeutic games and puzzles. One of the hardest things for our children to do is share their lives with their therapist and games and conversation starters make it so much easier for them to engage in the therapeutic process.

Your donation will be used daily and will benefit all 62 of my 8th graders. You can see the gratitude on their faces and after I showed them all the new games, etc, they all asked to come up to play during lunch and recess. Thanks again for your generous contributions, you have definitely made a huge impact with this one!โ€
