I have an extreme appreciation for your support! My students are using these tools daily. All of the Lakeshore software games have been introduced to the students. During our work stations, the students get to independently play the games on the SmartBoard.
The engagement that my students experience while using our new gifts is amazing! Whether whole group instruction, partner work or independent practice, my students enjoy learning with the technology you have provided us.
The math counting boxes have been a huge hit with my class also. We have begun making new "I can" tasks with the boxes because the kids enjoy playing with them so much and they originally were for simple counting activities.
Thank you for impacting students and teachers in such a positive way with you generous donation to education!”
This letter does not seem enough of a thank you for what your generosity has given to this class. We are heavily populated with military families and also a low income area. Therefore, we have students entering and leaving the school mid-year. It is hard for the younger ones to transition easily, especially when one or both parents are in a deployment. Having access to a classroom library is often times a first library for my students as access to the public library requires transportation, many of which do not have.
The day the bean bags and the library boxes arrived was of course a great day. I could not bring them to the classroom until the students had left for the day. I set up the library and bean bags so they would see them when they came in the next day. The looks on their faces was priceless. The novelty of sitting in the library area has not worn off and I really do not think it ever will. The area gives them a place to call their own, and gives them a sense of privacy, security, and feeling of belonging. When you take into consideration the transient element of their family life, having a safe place to read for some of them is a wonderful feeling.
Thank you once again from the bottom of our hearts.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Brennan
