  • Library! Grade 6 Book and Internet Cafe

    Funded Nov 1, 2007

Thank you so much so your wonderful donation of some current titles for my school library. My school just added Grade 6 and it will be adding Grades 7 and 8 over the course of the next two years.

My students are always looking for the new titles, however the library just can't keep up on the $2000 funding that it receives each year.

Your donation will allow me to create a special section for Grade 6 students in the library. When the library has books the students enjoy reading they like to come to visit.

I will be having a cafe celebration for Grade 6 when the box of books arrives.

Thank you. Books are the best gift and New York City Public School libraries just don't have enough.

  • Mirette on High Wire!

    Funded Oct 24, 2006

Thank you so much for the books Mirette on High Wire.

I am leading a circus arts club after school for second graders from January to March. On March 6 we will be performing our own circus(this is why I selected a March date to send you the pictures and cards).

We will be reading lots of circus books during the club and learning to perform circus skills with the help of a clown.

Then we will studying circus animals that live at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The purpose of the club is to promote literacy in a fun and enjoyable way and giving out a book allows us to do this”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. O
