It is with mixed emotions that I am participating in Mustaches for Kids. That's right, for the next four weeks, I will be subjecting myself to public humiliation and private doubt by growing what will no-doubt be a ridiculous looking Mustache. In order to justify this endeavor I need your support. Please sponsor my Mustache by picking a classroom project from the list below to support. And wish me and my Mustache luck. Thank you so much for your generous donation of the computer and digital camera. I know the students have thoroughly enjoyed using both items in the classroom. They really enjoyed using the digital camera during recess. Reading and comprehension are such important skills for third grade students. Being able to use the computer for reading games and educational programs is a fun way for the students to increase their reading ability. The students really enjoy writing stories about pictures that they take with the digital camera. Once again thank you for your generosity and your love for these children. These supplies will be utilized often to help with the success of my students. Thanks.”
My students and I want to send our deepest thank you's for funding my "Creativity Classroom" projects. The markers, colored pencils, pens, and scissors have been heavily used since we received them. Cutting our the world map and pasting them to make Pangea (the supercontinent) as well as decorating our broken bone reports has put our supplies to use!
Another project which we undertook was making a timeline of Earth's history. To do this, students cut receipt paper to 20 feet and divided the various eras on the paper. We then colored each era a different color. Your donation has helped us add color to the classroom, and we greatly appreciate it!

This classroom project was brought to life by Chevron and 2 other donors.
There is no way to tell you how much your generosity has affected my students. Students are now actively engaged in music lessons. They are already able to play the calypso classic "Day-O." Soon we will be working on the guitar accompaniment for "Take Time in Life'" which is in our African Drum curriculum.
Without your help we would still be talking about the guitar instead of playing it. Because of the recent economic slowdown, our budgets have been drastically cut. It is only with your kind assistance that we obtained these instruments. I sincerely believe that many of these students will be encouraged to pursue guitar later, now that they have been exposed to the joys of playing in elementary school.
I extend a warm "bravo" to you all, and thanks for giving us the chance to shine.
Thank you again for your generous donation to my classroom. The listening activities that you donated are helping my students every single day.
My students love to spend time at the listening center. It is the most popular center in the classroom and my students would sit there for hours if they could. I have seen reading levels increase since using these activities and the overall enthusiasm for reading in our classroom is growing.
With this donation I am sure my Kindergarteners will leave my classroom at the end of the year more than ready for first grade. ”
Thank you again for your generous donation to my classroom. The leveled books you donated are helping my students every single day.
My students are now able to search for and read books that make them feel successful. Many have come up to me with smiles on their faces because they just read a book without any help. Without these books my Kindergartens would not be able to feel like good readers. These books allow them to practice reading more at their own level. I now wish I had a bigger class library for my students to sit and read in, which has become a very popular free time activity. ”
Thank you so much for your help with my request for an LCD projector! So far it has made a major difference in our classroom and there are still so many possibilities. I have been able to engage the students with pictures, videos, and even games that really gave meaning to my lessons. Students even begged our computer lab teacher to teach them how to use PowerPoint so they can make something of their own to show on the projector! We are all so appreciative.
I am sharing the projector with the other third grade classes and those classes have enjoyed it just as much as mine. Our principal loves the impact it has had and is planning to include projectors for all classes in next year's budget. Previously she chose not to due to budget cuts. Thanks to your support, not only is my class benefiting, but soon all students at my school will be able to appreciate technology in the classroom!
Thank you for caring. Thank you for coming to this site and donating to my project and probably many others. Thank you.”
Thank you so much for the wonderful donation! My students were truly excited to see that we received an incubator and egg turner!
We have not yet begun to hatch our chickens because we will not do that until the very end of the year, however, we have checked out all of the equipment that you graciously donated to us.
By owning an incubator we can now hatch chicks. My students are able to learn about the life cycle of a chick, and also learn what a chick needs to grow, and how it grows in the egg. By owning an egg turner, we can guarantee to have a better hatch than if we had to sporadically turn the eggs on our own.
Thank you once again for the wonderful incubator and egg turner. My students and I cannot wait to use it! ”
Thank you so much for donating the trampoline and scoop set to our program for students with autism. The trampoline is a huge hit. We have it set up in our program office and when students get disregulated (start to have a hard time being still or focusing) they can ask for a quick trip up to "get their wiggles out". It's a great way for them to get back on track so they can focus in class.
They also love bringing their friends from other classes up for a trampoline break. The students will play games like 20 questions while they bounce. It's a fun way for our students to experience relationship building with their peers.
We are also loving the scoops. One way we've used them is to tell scoop stories in our social skills group, passing the ball to each other while adding lines to a story being told orally. The visual cue of the ball is a great way for students to know where to pay attention in the group and they get practice with their gross motor skills as well. They also love using them at recess time with their friends.
Your generosity means so much, thanks for making caring about our very special students.”
Thank you so much for the books you gave to our program for students with autism. We have really enjoyed the expansion of our program library.
Some of our student's favorites include "The Greedy Triangle", "Where the Sidewalk Ends", and "The Empty Pot". Sometimes when our students are having a tough time staying focused in their classroom, we let them take a break in the program office and reading and looking at books is a favorite activity. The books you gave nearly doubled the number of books we had available for students. They've been so excited about the new stories.
I am also in the process of planning lessons with other teachers in our school to teach all students in our community about people with disabilities. Some of the books you gave will be part of those lessons.
Thanks for caring about our very special students, we are so grateful. ”
It is with great pleasure that I write to you to thank you for your generosity. The amount you donated allowed me to provide valuable copy paper to my colleagues. They were ecstatic to hear about wonderful people like yourselves who value and understand the importance of having the proper materials to educate our students. The donated copy paper has been used in numerous ways. some teachers copied grammar sheets for their students to practice writing proper sentences and paragraphs. Another teacher used the donated copy to copy multiplication and division number stories for kids to practice real life problem solving. Your donation has assisted our whole school to move forward in our school-wide effort to teach children to be successful and joyful learners.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Abdolcader
