Children get left behind in this country all the time. Teachers, particularly in poorer areas, have a hard time getting the resources that they need.
This year, I've picked four science proposals submitted by teachers working at high-poverty level schools in the Bronx. I'm hoping we'll be able to fully fund all four. If we surpass the goal (or look likely to), I'll add some more projects from the same area.
As my students finished their unit of study on realistic fiction, I noticed how quickly they went though paper, colored pencils, markers, and white-out in their efforts to make their work perfect. I drove home from work today trying to calculate in my head exactly how much it was going to cost me for the year to keep them supplied with these essentials. So to find out that I was funded put the biggest smile on my face.
It is so important to me to make sure that my students move through the writing process with ease. There first stories far surpassed my expectation and I want to do everything in my power to make sure that continues
We are moving into a literacy unit that will have the students creating brochures. Your generous funding of this grant will ensure that the students have the resources they need for this unit and future units to excel in school.
Thank you so much for considering my grant and your continued support of education.
Thank you immensely for choosing to fund my proposal! Please be assured that you will definitely be helping to foster a true love of science in my students, while also helping to provide a more concrete understanding of our ecosystem curriculum!
I am so very happy that you are helping me to be a better science teacher to my students. Again, thank you so much”
Wow! I am so surprised and so grateful. We just went on our first Hudson River trip yesterday and I was telling someone today that I did not think this would be funded. So I have be trying to figure out how to get these supplies for my class. My students will be totally excited to know that someone donated these materials. I can't wait to see their reaction when they see their science classroom come alive.
I am so excited about the journals you donated to us. I just found out and I cannot wait to share this with my kindergarten students--I am sure they will be just as excited as I am, if not more.
This is the second year we were fortunate to receive journals from donors like you. Thank you so much for extending your hand and helping brighten the paths of our future scientists.
I cannot wait to start using the journals with students who are now starting to write, record data and sketch.
Thank you so much for your extremely kind and generous gift! Your donation is going to open and brighten the minds of a truly wonderful and special group of children. I am so excited to receive the science kits and to send you pictures so you can see your generosity come to life.
Warmest regards,
