  • Student Scientists Seek Some Sorely Sought-After Supplies!

    Funded Oct 14, 2007

Thanks so much for funding my proposal! My kids and I just started our study of electricity, so your donation is right on time! My kids have been really enthusiastic about our new science unit, and they'll be even more jazzed to find out that we'll have materials for hands-on experiments! I really can't thank you enough!

    Sincerely,

  • Hatchin' Chicks!

    Funded Oct 13, 2007

Wow! Thank you SO much for funding our classroom project. Seeing this notice this morning had me walking on air. Our school just received a grant for a school garden, and after going to a workshop on organic gardening, I've learned that we can keep the chickens in coups on our grounds for the students to benefit from, past the incubation period. We will be able to use their fresh eggs in our breakfast program, use the chickens to aerate our garden soil and peck at the pesky insects. My students are also desperate for animals (we get our bunny on Wednesday), so this will be a fabulous chance for them to learn responsibility in the care of animals. Thank you again so much - I can't wait to send you pictures and cards from the kids!

  • Watch Us Grow Part 3

    Funded Oct 11, 2007

Thank you so very much for the science materials. I can't wait for my students to see the pray mantises. We had a large one in our observation container earlier this year, but we let it go after a few days of watching. My students are going to be so excited. They love watching the living things in our room. We currently have Sea-Monkeys. Every day they go straight to the tank to see how much they have grown. They are always catching grasshoppers, crickets and other critters to bring into the room so that we can observe them for a couple of days. Thank you again for your generosity. You can be assured that these materials will be used my 21 very excited third graders.

    Sincerely,

    Gayle ”

  • Classroom Economy: Using Money In A Real-Life Context!

    Funded Oct 11, 2007

Thank you for your generous donation to my classroom! I am extremely thrilled at the new reality of getting these materials, which will allow me to teach about money in an engaging way that relates to my students’ lives. In addition to teaching students about the value of money and calculations with money, I aim to instill more practical life skills in my students such as earning and saving and to reinforce positive behavior at the same time. Your gift will make it possible for my students to grasp money concepts in a real and meaningful way. I am deeply grateful for your donation.

  • Wading For A Donor!

    Funded Oct 5, 2007

What a wonderful surprise I got this morning when I found my request for waders had been fulfilled! I can't wait to get my students in the water when we go to the stream again. With your donation most of my class will be wading in the stream taking water samples and testing the samples for water quality. I am truly looking forward to sending you pictures of this wonderful experience that you have enhanced. Thank you for your generosity.
