It has been a joy to see the students using the organizational materials that you have donated to our art room. You have helped to make the art room become an environment where my students are able to easily access materials and put them away when they are finished. The shelf that you donated holds resources and materials so that students and I can easily access them for lessons. The donated brush holder and pencil holder gives the students easy tools for organizing and putting away supplies.
Another big change to the art room from your donation is the cart that has pull out drawers. Inside of each drawer in the cart is a mini center. The students love to choose an activity, pull out the drawer that contains it, and take it to their table to explore.
As you can see your donation has made quite an impact on our art room. We really appreciate your help in getting organized and helping us to be more responsible with our things. The students and I agree: You have really helped to make our art room a wonderful space! Thank you!!”

Thank you so much for your donations to this very important project. As the Dance instructor at an elementary school for the arts, I strive to teach the best technique to my students. This year a special group of 4th, 5th, and 6th graders will be performing the Nutcracker. Our ballet barres have been used for countless hours already to help strengthen and lengthen their muscles and develop better ballet technique. Without these barres my students would have had to use backs of wobbly chairs, whiteboard ledges, or the wall as their support! These barres are such a blessing and my students appreciate them so much. Every student has their own spot on the barre and exude so much more confidence when at the barre than just at a random spot in the room. Thank you again for your donations and I cannot wait til our Nutcracker performance to see their perfected arabesques *from the barre work!*”
Thank you so much for your time and monetary donations that made this request a reality! This center is the best! I could not imagine the difference that this single item would make in the classroom but let me tell you it has made a HUGE difference in our classroom. I use an incredibly complicated reading system and my students were unable to locate their materials in a timely fashion before we had this organizer! My students know right where to go to find their reading supplies. I can't begin to tell you the improvement the organizer has made!
Without this organizer my second grade students would waste precious time that they needed to improve their reading skills. They now take those precious minutes and put them to good use getting more "bang for the buck" every minute. I am seeing progress and improvement daily.
I hope that through the pictures you will see of the students and the center and thank you notes from the students you will begin to get a true sense of the impact the organizational center has made in the classroom. I find it truly awesome that such wonderful people think so much of my students that they donate their money to make a difference in my classroom now and for many years to come. I truly thank you for all you have done.”

Thank you all for your concern for the writing abilities of my precious second grade students. Your concern for my students and their improvement was the catalyst that allowed Donors Choose to purchase the writing center for my classroom. Your monetary donations to fund this request made a dream of mine a reality. My "itch" to see students write better has now been "scratched" and my second grade students are well on their way to becoming better writers.
The day the writing center arrived in my classroom was the last day that writing was a problem and was the day that we tossed out the words "I can't" in our class. You have helped to turn can't into cans!
On behalf of my second grade students and myself we thank you now and for many, many years of writing organization and success in the future. Thank you!”

Years ago I taught at an elementary school near the Children's Museum. I taught there on Fridays. It was a great day. The 5-day a week PE Teacher had somehow acquired an old tabletop scoreboard. He used it to condition his kids. The dimensions of the red lines equal almost 30 laps for one mile. We didn't have the kids run one mile but at a 10 minute pace, one lap equals :20 seconds. The kids started at 10:00 and the timer would count down. 20 seconds later they would be at 9:40, and twenty seconds after that they would be at 9:20, on down to 9:00. So at the :40, :20, and :00 they were supposed to have completed one lap.
I've always wanted to do this in the winter! So now I have my multi-use scoreboard, which, among other things, will be used to condition my kids in the winter.”

Thank you so much for the bean bags and the sensory materials! Ever since the Wednesday the bean bags arrived, the students cannot wait to sit on them! They want to take tests on them! They want to practice their math facts with a buddy on them! They help their classmates while sitting on them! They are a huge hit! It seems like something so little, but the kids are longing to be on them as much as possible. And as long as we are learning I am extremely happy to have the bean bags all over the room! I cannot tell you how much the sensory balls are helping my kids. We have so many kids that are active and struggle with sitting in chairs for hours! The sensory items give them the opportunity to have movement without disrupting their learning and the learning of others! They are amazing. Students are really using them with great success!”

My students are enjoying the use of both the books and the comfortable carpet and bean bag chairs. It is amazing to see students who claim not to like reading begin to enjoy sitting in comfort with a good book. Would you believe that both my 9th and 12th graders are showing the same excitement for our Reading Zone?
Students have read more books because they are able to relax while reading. They also engage in conversation as they exchange information about what they are reading. Many are now able to write great reflections on what they have read. Learning is taking place in the most pleasurable way.
It is therefore with great joy and humility that we express our heartfelt gratitude. Our reading zone is indeed a pleasurable part of our class. Students from other classes are asking if they could borrow our books, or use our zone during their study hall. The carpet and bean bag chairs are indeed a great hit, and an enticement to read. Thank you ever so much for your generosity.”

Thank you very much for investing in our students and believing in their ability to succeed. Teaching our students the importance of technology within the classroom will continue to spur their excitement for learning.
Our students have not had much exposure to diversity in their learning experiences. The FLIP video camera has been, and will in future years, be used in a multitude of ways. The students use the camera for literacy lessons and fluency activities. They are able to use it in pairs to help enhance their math fact fluency. Also, it has been used to record school programs so that the pride our student's feel in their accomplishments can be seen long after. By offering them another medium in which to grow, you, the donor, have taken a role in their educational journey.
The world of education is quickly changing. Students are being exposed to more information in less time than ever before. Our students have not been successful with the typical traditional styles of learning. They need to see, touch, breathe and experience new concepts. The educational tools you have given them have made the path towards success more attainable and reasonable for our students. They will be able to experience learning though participation and through endless enjoyment of technology with the FLIP video camera.
Thank you, again, for your unyielding support of urban education. Please know you have made a difference in the lives of our students in a very meaningful way.”
I cannot begin to say thank you enough for the enthusiasm and joy you brought to my class room through your generosity. My students immediately wanted to know what was in the boxes, open them up, and start playing. I had to hold them back!! Once the games were implemented into my reading block they played a huge part in revitalizing my instruction. The students were enthused once again and took the games as an opportunity to learn new and old material. Close to the end of a school year students can get bored with the same old thing. Therefore changing how they learn material is a must!!! If it was not for all of you I would not have had the means to purchase these wonderful learning games for my class room. I thank you for your support and am inspired by your thoughtfulness and concern with education!!!”
I want to thank you so much for your generous donations. I am so excited to get started drumming with my students. The students are aware that Donor's Choose was contacted, but will be so surprised to know that this all has come to fruition so quickly.
I also want to add that this timing is great as we have added about 15 new students to the population which has added great amounts of stress for the students and teachers. These instruments will be a great therapeutic addition to help these students look forward to coming to their special area classes and possibly improve daily behavior. In addition, 100% of the students will be able to participate 100% of the time.
Thank you again for all of your generosity and kindness. ”
With gratitude,
Teacher
