In lieu of gifts and party favors this year, my birthday wish is to help students get the school supplies they desperately need.
If you really want me to have a happy birthday, you'll check out the projects listed on this page and donate whatever you can (assuming you were going to get me a gift in the first place, that is...).
Anyway, with DonorsChoose, everybody wins: Students, teachers, me, and you (receiving thank-you's and pictures from "your" classroom is one of the best feelings ever, trust me!) .
So, huge thanks to everyone who donates - you're doing a very good thing. The rest of you are out of my Will.
Back to watching Matlock and sobbing quietly into my jello now. Sigh...

Wow!! Thank you so much for all of your generous donations! I couldn't be more happier than I am right now. To receive these donations truly means alot. Your donations have provided essential materials for my scholars to learn real world skills. I am so very grateful that you saw fit to donate to our project. My scholars have been able to learn life skills that they may have never been able to learn and take with them had it not been for you and your kind hearted donations. They are truly appreciative and often talk about showing others what they have learned. Again, I thank you and they thank you!”

I want to take a moment to thank you for all the materials and supplies that my students and I have been fortunate to use in the classroom. The electric pencil sharpener and thermal laminator are essential tools that we rely on regularly. The sharpener has been especially helpful during both whole-class and small-group lessons, as well as in art and special projects where well-sharpened, vibrant pencils make a difference. The writing materials have also been incredibly useful, allowing my students to fully engage in various writing and drawing activities.
The pocket folders have been a great organizational tool, helping students keep their classwork and homework neat and in one place. They've made a big difference in maintaining order and responsibility in the classroom.”

The resources donated to my class have been used in our walk in clinic and early childhood centers across New Orleans East. Having high quality education toys is essential for learning in early childhood special education for engagement and behavior. My students love the variety of resources I bring to therapy each week and it is donors like you that make it possible. Faced with teacher layoffs beginning next week and all supply budgets eliminated for the upcoming school year, I am so thankful that I have these amazing resources to use and share with other colleagues.”

I want to thank you for providing the funding for my students to purchase the imagiCharms. They've been learning how to code using the Python language and upload their creations to the charms. This have taken their code writing from block-based programming to Python in a fun and creative way.
We were able to have the founder of imagiCharms Zoom into our classroom and lead a lesson with a 5th grade class. It was really inspiring to have a female CEO and inventor leading the class in a coding exercise.
Students will be using the charms during our Computer Science Showcase at the end of the year to show the community how they've taken their programming to the next level with your generosity. Thank you for all you've done for my students!”

As a school mental health therapist, I am incredibly grateful for the generous donations of snacks, food, and candy from DonorsChoose. These contributions, made by family, friends, and anonymous donors, have had a meaningful impact on my sessions with students. Snacks have proven to be an effective tool in building rapport, especially for students who may be hesitant about therapy or new to the process. Offering a small treat creates a welcoming atmosphere, helping to ease anxiety and encourage participation. It has been heartwarming to see how something as simple as a snack can make students feel more comfortable and engaged during our time together.
Beyond engagement, these donations serve a deeper purpose. Many of my students face challenges that extend beyond the therapy room, including food insecurity. Having snacks available ensures that they can focus on their sessions without the distraction of hunger. It also fosters a sense of care and connection, showing them that there are people who support their well-being, even from a distance. I sincerely appreciate every donor who contributed to this initiative—your kindness is making a real difference in the lives of these students. After all, what kid doesn't love snacks?”

I can't thank you enough. I've created little "hygiene" bags for the kids and they are beyond grateful. Most of my students are not aware of how important hyigene is and how it impacts their day-to-day lives. I gave a brief speech to each student and each were given a bag. The young ladies included feminine hygiene items, as well as deodorant, a healthy snack, hair ties and a water bottle. The young men were given deodorant, deodorant wipes, a healthy snack and and also a water bottles. The water bottles were not on the list, they were donated as well. I'm so happy to have a community that can donate to my students. This was an amazing project to assemble.”

As I students prepare for their upcoming standardized tests, these workbooks helped my students in a major way. The students absolutely loved their books, and they continue to work on them daily!!! The students received more in depth knowledge of the math, and the reading portions of the books really kept the students engaged in their learning. I was happy to see the students being so involved. They truly loved the math books.
Reading is a vital piece for students, and it was great to see how they were able to notice the connection to reading when they answered math problems. It increased their writing skills as well when they were able to write complete sentences to show their answer. I truly appreciate the kindness and thoughtfulness given to my students with your donation. We truly thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
My students have enjoyed the new items in my classroom. I have had an improvement in academic success, positive behavior increases, and greater compliance when given undesired tasks. When one student saw the bean bag, his reaction was priceless! His statement as he sat on the bean bag for the first time was "Woah! It got bigger! It has superpowers!" More students have enjoyed reading on that beanbag.
With the marble in the maze, I had a student request the blanket. We tried finding the "blanket" for about 15 minutes, until this student got up and grabbed the marble in the maze. She started rubbing it on her face and got back to work.
The dobbers are a huge hit! We have done so many fine motor/sensory activities with them. It is an incentive to finish all of their work in order to have some time to paint with the dobbers. The letter stamps is another fun activities my students have enjoyed doing more often. Now that I have more students at one time, everyone can do it at the same time and not have to wait.
I can't thank you enough for your support!”

Thank you so much for donating to my kindergarteners. Your donation made a huge impact in the lives of my scholars. You made sure that every one of my students received Christmas stockings and activities to do over winter break. This means so much to my scholars and their families. They really enjoyed making all the crafts and reading our holiday inspired books. The enjoyed making crafts and carefully following all the directions. My students got to bond and connect with their classmates as they worked on their snowman and laughed from their silly conversations. It was so good to see the students enjoying the holiday festivities after all the hardworking they did during the Fall trimester. Thank you for making this a Christmas to remember.”

On behalf of our students and staff, I want to sincerely thank you for your generous donation to our Culinary Arts program. Your support means so much to us, providing our students with the resources they need to learn, create, and grow in the kitchen. Your kindness helps make hands-on learning possible, and we truly appreciate your investment in their success.
Thank you again for your generosity and for believing in our students!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Campbell
