Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Help my students get lost in a book and find a love of reading!
My students are creative, compassionate 7th graders at an urban school in New York City.
They love learning and have big plans for their future. My students have a wide range of abilities, interests, backgrounds and beliefs but we all work together to make our classroom environment a respectful, caring and welcoming place.
My Project
Studies show that students today do not spend enough time reading. What better way to spark a love of reading, than to put new and exciting books in the hands of students! These books will help us transform our classes independent reading time into a time where students can feel drawn into a story. As adults we choose exciting books to read, let's give our students that same choice!
These books will help my students fall in love with reading.
It is so important for students to be able to learn about worlds and experiences other than their own. These books will help my students gain this critical perspective to become more thoughtful, understanding people!
