Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am an Occupational Therapist working within the elementary school setting. My students all learn in different ways but we don't let our differences stop us from accessing the curriculum or the campus at large. They have an amazing attitude and work to persist to learn skills that may come easy to others. Together, my students and I work hard year round to achieve their personal goals to make them strong and successful learners.

With occupational therapy in the elementary setting, my goal is to turn hard work into play, which is how children learn best and is their primary occupation. I have requested construction paper and clay to work on cutting and fine motor development. Stencils, stickers, and ink pads will address bimanual coordination skills. The craft trays will ensure quick and easy clean up so our time can be spent on what is most important.
