I am a Speech Language Pathologist providing speech and language therapy/communication intervention across both inclusion and self contained settings. My students are striving to learn to express themselves effectively in the classroom so that they can effectively access the curriculum. My students are extraordinary individuals who choose to overcome challenges and adversity every time they come into the classroom. Through close collaboration with my students team of classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and parents we promote speech and language growth to help our future leaders of tomorrow succeed in both their personal and academic goals.

Many of my students experience speech impairments which impacts their speech sound/articulation production. In addition to their conversational speech this challenge can impact their academics through spelling, phonics, sound/letter recognition. It can be incredibly frustrating for my students when they cannot communicate effectively with their peers and teaching staff. I have requested an articulation photo cards set for early developing sounds and the vocal r photo card set. While you may think of 'r' as a single letter or sound, the vocalic r is actually 6 different productions due to how it interacts with vowels. These sets will help me to more effectively teach appropriate sound productions in therapy and expand/strengthen intelligibility in the classroom.
