This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Third grade is an exciting year! It's also a crucial milestone for students academically, socially, and emotionally. My students enjoy school and love learning new math and science skills but sometimes, they require a boost of energy to refocus.
Providing students with snacks during math and science class will not only re-energize those who are tired, but it will also help students focus on their academics.
Third grade science is about exploring and investigating, but math is a subject most find challenging. Some of the requested snacks will be provided to students during our "Snack and Work" time. I have also selected snacks to support our learning of various math concepts. Snacks such as Cheerios and Pretzel Snaps will be used to teach students about arrays. Students will also use Cheerios and Pretzel Sticks when we explore adding two digit numbers.
Having access to snacks during center time and whole group lessons will ensure students' brains are fueled and their bodies are given a satisfying energy boost. It will also make learning hands-on and stick like glue!
