This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Many of my 6th & 7th-grade students come to school without hope for their futures. They have adult responsibilities and little time to "just be a kid". I use my lessons to inspire students to dream, imagine, and create. The Color Psychology Magazine Advertisement project teaches them how marketing firms use color schemes to entice consumers to desire products and services. My hope is that this project (and other projects) will introduce them to a career in visual arts, marketing, or graphic design. Students will print out their artwork in color from their school-issued computers. They will also have the option of creating their color psychology projects by hand using colored paper, markers, pencils, crayons, etc.
