Teaching a double class can be challenging, and having a large rug as a meeting area for lessons and small group activities is so helpful. Including everyone on the rug makes lessons much more engaging, and students all feel included in our classroom family. My goal is to have a cozy environment where students feel comfortable and at home.
The whiteboards are used daily to practice math, reading skills, and even cursive writing!
These are a tool I can use to instantly see who understands what I'm teaching and who doesn't so that I know who to target for more instruction and clearing up misconceptions when they're sent back to their seats for worktime.
