I have been teaching in South Florida in local charter schools since 2010. My students have made such an impact on my growth as a teacher and person. This year is my first year in second grade!
The students in my class are fun, full of energy, and love having options!
I'd like to give them a classroom they love coming to every day and implement flexible seating, but would like to integrate more technology. We currently have two classroom iPads, but we would like to have three more so we can use them in small groups and differentiate learning more!
My Project
With the use of classroom iPads, my students who may be struggling readers can listen to celebrities read aloud to them or play sight word games to help them master words they are struggling with.
I have many ESOL students in my class and they would also greatly benefit from using different ESOL apps to practice their english.
My higher students would be able to listen to above grade level text and practice sightwords from upper grades as well as practice their handwriting or research skills. They can also all practice their math facts through the use of iPads or use digital manipulatives to help them understand a math skill better!
