Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The motto for this school year is, "Rise UP"! In order to continue rising in our education we need tablets. These tables will give students the opportunity to visit the computer each and every day. My students range from ESOL level 1-4 and are a set of well-behaved and responsible students. They come from families with a low socioeconomic status. My school is in a high poverty neighborhood where about 93% of students receive free and reduced lunch.
Each of my 17 students are unique in their own special way and would benefit from learning English through the use of technology.
My Project
My students need tablets and protective cases to improve their academic performance. With the tablet they will be able to practice the following and more in each of the subjects: reading/writing their letter name and sounds, handwriting practice, sight words, sentences and stories etc. During math they can use the tablets to practice counting, addition, subtraction and so much more. For science they can observe online experiments and will be able to research given topics. The possibilities are endless.
Help my students get on track with technology at their finger tips.
Having these tablets will improve my classroom by keeping the students engaged on the given task. Rotations time will run smoothly and will be less stressful on both the students and me.
