Help me give my students the materials they need, such as a weighted bell lap pad, stress balls, and puzzles, to be successful with their academic achievements.
Stringing beads, assembling pop beads, theraputty exercises and manipulating small objects between fingers are all different activities my students require in order to help with their fine motor strength to help make their handwriting legible. I am an Occupational Therapist who works with students in 3rd through 5th grades. They have a variety of diagnoses and all have IEPs to help them succeed within the school environment.
Our students require extra support to help them increase their independence during their school day.
Difficulty with fine motor strength is a common issue in the students that I work with. All of the students have some type of disability that results in them having problems with attending to task, handwriting, coloring, cutting and self-help skills, such as, button, snap and zipping.
My Project
All students want to be successful. The materials I am requesting will increase my students' ability to be successful in the classroom and school setting. Being able to attend to tabletop activities and having the strength, endurance, and coordination are key.
By providing my students with these products, you will be helping them become more successful and independent in the classroom setting.
The creepy crawler sensory bin, therapy ball, sit disc, sensory fidget packages and maze gel pad will increase the students fine motor strength, increase their tactile awareness and increase their attention to the ask. Pencil weights, knob crayons, peg board set, think fun maze will increase fine motor and visual motor skills needed to complete written activities, coloring, cutting and self-help skills.
