My class is made up of over 1/2 ESOL and many gifted students. I need to meet the needs of all of all my learners at their own individualized level.

I have received $0 dollars in supplies this year for my students. With budget cuts for next year planned, not only will teachers in this district receive no budget for supplies, but 15 furlough days.

One of my many objectives I want for my students is to leave my room with the love of reading and to enjoy writing. This project will help a hard working class that is over half ESOL and 1/2 gifted. With these materials, I can reach every kind of learner. I know these students will appreciative and actually use all of these materials daily. We need your help to bring the love of writing and reading back to the classroom. You can help make a difference!

My students need whole group, small group, and individualized writing lessons. Research shows children that can write transfer that background knowledge and can improve and further their reading comprehension and skills. My goal with this project is to get materials that will help teach writing to whole group, small groups, and individualized lessons. I also want to motivate my students to want to write and in return learn to love to read. I ordered a big easel to incorporate whole group lesson to model writing. The more they see it, the more they learn to do it. I ordered the small easel to work with small groups or individuals to differentiate instruction and hit specific skills that a group needs using "hands-on" materials. I also ordered materials that will encourage students to write independently and challenge themselves.
