My Students
My students come from a school that is very diverse in its culture. We have a high ratio of low income students in our school. We are now officially this year considered Title I.
I work with 2nd grade cuties!
This year, my class ranges in different ranges of skill levels. What this means, is that I will have kiddos in my classroom that need a lot of intervention and others that need a lot of extension in their learning. Some of my students will be learning on a K level or 1st grade level, while others are working on a 2nd grade level or higher. There will be a huge need for differentiation in my class. The children in my class have a high need to keep their brains BUSY consistently with class activities!
My Project
This year, my class is in need of an easel and a rolling cart. The easel will allow my students to engage in partner work, classroom sharing, handwriting practice, and writing modeling. During math, the students will be able to elaborate their thinking on word problems by showing examples, number sentences, different math strategies, and conclusions. I'm writing, students will be able to correctly write sentences and paragraphs on the easel with the sentence frames already there. The rolling cart will give our class a place to house our menu items for our stations each week during our intervention time.
