I am a second grade Gifted and Talented teacher to students that reach for the stars. We are in an elementary school in New York City where we are rich in culture and diversity. Our classrooms hold up to 32 students a year—and we all become a family.
My students are inquisitive, imaginative, and have the love to explore.
They work in partnerships, in groups, and are always presenting their learning in different ways. We are problem solvers that are determined to find a solution regardless of the situation.
I want to able to give my students all the best tools so they can continue to learn in a technology filled world.
My Project
Our school has made a movement to involve the children in the technology they use and introduce them to the different skills that can be learned using different technologies. In my class, I want my children to be able to experience coding with collaborative groups. These bee-bots are a way to help incorporate the use of problem solving, probablility, and new coding skills.
Coding is a wonderful technique and skill that helps technology advance.
My children will be able to experience all the benefits that come with coding.
My students will be constructing mazes for the bee-bots to go through. They will need to work together to figure out the best code for the bee-bot. This way the children are able to be hands on with coding practice. When the children experience what their coding can do, the more they will want to learn.
