I am an ESE teacher for grades K-5, with a majority of my students functioning around a 2nd grade level academically. I teach all academic courses, including social skills. I love all my students and their eagerness to learn even with challenges.
It's my passion to inspire them and expand their love of learning as they build knowledge, develop their ability to socialize, and enjoy engaging in interactive projects that teach while students focus on the task at hand.
Our school is a Title I school located in a small rural area. We service about 450 students with varying backgrounds and ethnicity, some who are homeless or in foster care.
My Project
With the support of quality teacher talk and the deliberate incorporation of iPads into learning opportunities, an iPad is an exciting and real technology tool in our world today, which can transform learner outcomes throughout the day in the classroom. From using it to take photos on a nature walk of the season to display in the science center, to learning to write numbers and letters using the Handwriting Without Tears apps, or engaging with literature using audio books through iTunes, the iPad can enrich my students' knowledge in a plethora of ways in all areas.
Your generous donation to my project will improve my classroom by providing me the opportunity to give my students structured integration of iPads into their learning environment while expanding their learning opportunities as well as transferring their knowledge to the world beyond the classroom.
In addition, in this technological world, all interactions with technology will increase their literacy with it and their desire to learn.
