This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Dear Supporters,
The mission of this project is to send six well-deserving, highly-motivated, but under-privileged students on a life-altering trip to Europe. The students will spend seven days touring London and Paris, learning about the history and cultures contained within the cities.
The students who will be attending this trip have rarely traveled outside of their city, with the exception of evacuation for Hurricanes Katrina and Gustav, and as a result possess a narrow scope of the surrounding world. Our goal is to expose these students to more of what the world has to offer. We also plan to educate the students in these foreign cultures so that they can apply the knowledge toward improving their communities at home.
The students who were selected for the trip were chosen based on strength of character, leadership qualities, and a self-motivated approach toward education.
So far the group of students has been dedicating much of their free time, including Saturdays, toward fundraising for the trip. They have been bagging groceries at a local supermarket, and organizing fundraisers here at school. Their efforts up to this point have resulted in raising $764 of the trip's cost. Their efforts alone, however, can not ensure the trip will happen.
In order reach our financial goal we will need the support of people like you. Your generous donation, however large or small, will contribute greatly toward providing these students with this unique and life changing experience.
Thank you for your time, concern, and generosity,
Mr. P
