Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My students are part of a blended classroom where there is a mixture of diverse learners with a wide rage abilities and students whom come from the neighborhood which is predominantly Mexican-American. We are building the understanding in students that all are welcome in our special needs inclusive classroom.
My classroom is a little lab to practice life skills, make mistakes and fall in love with learning.
My goal is for my students to understand that learning happens in the world around them, and the best way to teach that is to bring the world to the classroom.
My Project
We have some budding artists in our classroom! All of the students float in and out of the art center during our day, but we have noticed that some have a hard time using the materials we have available.
Everybody deserves the right to create something beautiful!
We want to provide ALL of our students different options in the utensils they use; we want to make the art area fully accessible.
These adapted scissors, tweezers, paint stampers and paint cups will help every child in creating what their heart's desire. Everyone will have a chance to use all of these equally accessible materials. Universal Design at its best!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
