My students need a scroll saw, sander, drill/driver combo kit, clamps, headphones, and accessories to compliment the existing tools in the classroom for their woodworking projects.

My students enjoy working on hands on, experiential projects. As a part of our Key Learning Experiences (our school's approach to interdisciplinary systems-thinking curricula), Math, and Independent Study, students relish in opportunities to develop and construct various woodworking projects.
The creativity and enthusiasm of my students is expressed in the effort and dedication that they put into their woodworking projects.
Many of my students first experiences with building projects out of wood occur during their time in our classroom. They excel at thinking critically and enjoy learning about the world around them through hands on experiential learning.
My Project
Our classroom is in need of several tools and accessories for the woodworking projects that students work on. Once a week, students have the time to design, plan, and implement a independent study project of their own choice. Many of my students are interested in working on woodworking projects this year. I also have students work on woodworking projects during my integrated sciences, arts, and social studies curricular units. The tools we need are to supplement my own personal tools that have been used in the classroom over the past few years.
Woodworking is an opportunity for students to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills in addition to providing another outlet for students to express their creativity.
Students reinforce the skills that they are learning in math such as measurement, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in a practical real world way.
Mistakes are almost always made and students then have the chance to evaluate why the mistake was made, learn from it, and ultimately work to correct it. In this way, students understand that mistakes are valuable learning opportunities which helps them continue to foster and grow their growth mindsets.
