A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
"So what, Ms. G? There's nothing I can do for my country. I'm just a kid!" The truth is, there is so much our young people can do to better our communities and our country. They just need the right opportunities and the right tools to do so.
The majority of my students are racial minorities from economically disadvantaged homes.
Too often, civic participation is viewed by my students as something "other people" do or worse yet, as punishment for committing crimes or breaking the law. My goal is to positively reverse this perception by providing each student with the information and opportunity to actively participate in service that benefits their community and our country.
My Project
By donating to The November Voice Project, you will help students draw meaningful connections between the Civics curriculum and real-world application. Although they are not old enough to vote, students can positively affect change by inspiring others to make their voice heard by exercising their right to vote.
Computers in the classroom provide a gateway for students to become well-informed and active citizens.
In turn, students will share their knowledge and enthusiasm for what they are learning and doing with others in their community. This enthusiasm becomes a catalyst for meaningful participation in our country. Students show increased understanding of the purpose and function of our government by active participation and more importantly, students experience first hand what it takes to secure the blessings of liberty and justice for all!
