A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
This September I want to get my students excited about the world of butterflies. With a new garden, bug books and fresh new boxes of Crayola crayons, pencils and markers we're ready to create exciting butterfly projects!
My student is a Title I elementary school in Brooklyn, New York where all qualify for free lunch and breakfast.
I teach 3rd grade and have a variety of students from various cultures, backgrounds and all have unique and individual learning styles. This year I want to get my students excited about science and art. With the right supplies I can create the kinds of lessons that better differentiate and address the needs of all my students. Unfortunately, our school doesn't provide monies for science and writing supplies. We need help!
My Project
This project is requesting a variety of writing and coloring materials that will let me create an exciting entomology unit about butterflies. Our science teacher just hatched a batch and my students are now crazy for these insects.
We'll grow the butterflies in our new Butterfly Garden. The National Geographic Book of Bugs is for our Entomology Learning Center. We'll use the Crayola crayons, colored pencils and markers to create our "butterfly books" and posters. Having a sharp pencil to write is critical in all my lessons so I'm also asking for a new electric pencil sharpener. In addition, I need Post-it easel pads for classroom anchor charts that both teach and reinforce lesson content. All my students love to have their work displayed on colorful bulletin boards and I need new backing paper.
Your donations to my Butterfly Garden project will help so many wonderful children see the miracle of metamorphosis.
These are materials I just can't afford to buy. My students deserve all our support and love. Thank you so much for your support.
