This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Every day, I am surrounded by the most amazing students who have immigrated to this school from many countries. If I could describe them, five characteristics really stand out. They are hard-working, imaginative, supporting, explorers and most of all, a community. Students in my class have ownership of their own learning, by working together their learning happens organically. No matter the obstacle, my students have the thrive and hard-work ethic to explore solutions to the task at hand.
My students are from a low-income community and more than 90 percent of them get free or reduced lunch.
It is a great community from different walks of life. No matter the tedious challenges they face they strive to be the best they can be every day. I have been blessed with such an amazing set of young adults.
My Project
With LEGO Mindstorms and musical instruments, my amazing students can use their imagination, hands-on construction and programming robots to investigate and create coded devices to play music.
My project will make a difference to the students by integrating hands-on construction, coding and music code and have fun.
Time to dust off the old guitar, with the addition of other musical instruments and self made instruments students will learn to code a robot to play music. After learning the basics of programming and construction, students will work together to create fun musical devices through construction, coding and imagination. Students will create and code robots to play music. Students will learn about using color and motion sensors, motors, gear ratios and more.
