When you look into my classroom at any given time of the day, you will see up to 15 children who are full of energy and ready to learn. Most students lack previous schooling, so they are even more excited to have the chance to learn. They have had so many setbacks and challenges, but they are still such happy children.
My students do not care that the books are a little beat up, or that we do not have the latest technology that some other schools may have; they are simply happy to be here.
They have a strong desire to learn and will try their hardest to please you and themselves. They are not afraid to push themselves when they have the proper support and have frequently amazed me at the growth they achieve after such a short time in my room.
My Project
I hope to grow our Chromebook collection so that we get one step closer to 1-to-1 technology in our classroom. We have started learning more and more about coding, and having a Chromebook opens the door even more. My students will be able to work more independently and have access to different websites than what we currently have access to.
Many of the careers my students will have are not in existence yet.
I hope to give them a fighting chance at being successful in their futures by showing them all the possibilities and letting them discover their interests. For many students, these interests and strengths could be in technology and they would never know without access to technology such as this.
