This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Haven't we all dreamed of becoming a recording star? My kids certainly are excited about the opportunity of recording their original works, but at this time are unable to do so because of budget cuts.
Currently, I teach Elementary/Middle School music (4-8) at a high needs public school in Illinois.
Due to budget cuts, we are unable to provide the students with a well-rounded music program. The students deserve a chance to express themselves musically, and to have that work preserved. At this time, I have no budget to provide my students with music recording software, but with your help it can happen!
My Project
With the workstation, headphones, and acoustic panel, my students will be able to put what they have learned in music classes to practice. This will provide a great learning experience for the children, in that they are able to explore their creative side and produce music that is authentic to them. My students will not only be able to create and record their work, but will be able to hear their completed work as well. With this recording equipment, we will be able to produce student projects, and use those projects for fundraising efforts for further music materials in the classroom.
Who knows?
We just may have the next great recording star just waiting to spread their musical wings. My students are eager and enthusiastic about their exploration of recording their work. With your help, we can make this a reality
