About Lynwood Unified School District

At Lynwood Unified School District, we empower students to reach their goals in a changing educational environment and provide them with the instructional tools and socio-emotional support needed to reach their college and career aspirations. Lynwood Unified serves over 14,000 students across 12 elementary schools, three middle schools, three high schools, a preschool, and adult and independent study programs.

As the world around us shifts, we have worked to create an individualized learning system that meets each child at their place of need. We launched a Virtual Academy to tailor instruction to families and created a student-led tutoring support program for K-8 learners that allowed students to inspire their peers. Our career technical education pathways begin in elementary and middle schools, helping students determine which professions they might want to pursue. Our high school pathways include manufacturing and engineering, biomedicine and nursing, media and design arts, performing arts, photography, culinary arts and automotive.

The District’s emphasis on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects continues to expand with an elementary robotics course and a TK-2 iPad initiative, which gets young students involved in computer coding through games and robots. We believe that strong partnerships and collaboration are keys to student success. Please join us in inspiring our students to reach their full potential.
