In 2017, Hartford Public Schools and our community of families, students, teachers, faith-based leaders, businesses, and government came together to reimagine and restructure our district. The result of this engagement is our District Model for Excellence, our roadmap to success ensuring that all our beautiful and capable students can achieve.

In partnership with our families and community, our mission is to inspire and prepare ALL students to succeed in and beyond school. Our vision is that our students will graduate ready to transform our world. We value the whole student, and believe in high expectations, inclusiveness, collaboration, continuous improvement, and systemic accountability.

The District Model is comprised of four priorities: Teaching and Learning, Family and Community Partnerships, Operational Effectiveness, and School Climate and Culture. Each priority is based on specific strategies and major goals that we aim to meet by 2022. HPS students, families, teachers, staff, administrators and partners are working each day to make this ambitious plan a success.
