  • Unique Monopoly Experiences for Awesome Kids

    Funded Jan 29, 2025

Students were so excited to receive their cash registers and play money to be able to play the game, Monopoly, for real! The cash registers helped them practice their addition and subtraction skills. The play money motivated them to double check their math and make sure they were calculating everything correctly. The monopoly games gave my students a chance to really think about the needs and wants of a community and the monetary component gave them real-life experiences they will never forget!

Thank you so much for this opportunity”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shoshanna

  • Superstar Storytellers and So Much More

    Funded Jan 21, 2025

Our storytellers had a fabulous experience taking turns reading their books and discovering folktales from around the world. As a group we discussed how folktales are created, passed down from generation to generation, teach about the beliefs and knowledge from the past until today. We also learned how folktales can explain why things are the way they are in our world. Students used the journals and colored pens to create their own stories, get feedback from the other students, edit, and improve their stories so they were ready to tell them!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shoshanna

  • Reading Adventures for our Black Student Union

    Funded Feb 14, 2025

Our students had such a great learning experience with their new books and art supplies. Students took turns reading from their books that focused on strong Black lead characters. They used their notebooks and pens to write down their thoughts, questions, and ideas. They were able to use their written work to discuss and elaborate with each other. These books will be treasured for a very long time. Students are excited to share them with the next Black Student Union so they too can learn from amazing authors”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shoshanna

    Funded May 13, 2025

Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and generosity with these donations. Our families are so grateful to receive the support they need to be able to live their best lives for themselves and their children. These diapers and food products will be very welcome!

Thank you for believing in us and helping us help our entire community.”

  • Get Your Wiggles Out!

    Funded Nov 21, 2024

Thank you so much for these wonderful supplies. They have really helped us to get the wiggles out! Our students use the scooters for all kinds of cooperative and fun games. Through this donation, we have been able to purchase enough for all the students to share

We were able to teach students about physics through the futsal balls. It gave them a chance to see how even though balls may have the same size, their density can be different

We have had a lot of fun with these supplies AND we have been able to teach a lot of hands on science!

    Thank you once again”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shoshanna

  • Supportive Communities During Tough Times

    Funded Jan 1, 2025

Our families are beyond grateful for the support they have received from the community. Each week more and more families show up to see what our family resource center has to support them. With the help from you all and Donors Choose, we never disappoint. We are excited to share with them not only the donations that came from the Donors Choose family, but also the cheerleaders we have in the community who know that life can be tough sometimes. Together, we can lift each other up and continue to remind each other that you matter”

  • Striking Superstars!

    Funded Nov 21, 2024

Our students have had a blast learning how to play with their new equipment. They are designing new games, playing collaboratively, and learning how to share equally between their teammates

We are forever grateful for your support in these projects as they make a huge impact on our students and how they see that others not only care for them, but want them to succeed. We hope that by supplying our students with this kind of equipment that they will be more engaged in physical activity and grow in their self-confidence as athletes! Thank you so much!”

  • The Cold is Coming! Winter Clothes for All

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

We are so grateful for the donation of these clothing racks for our family resource center. They have helped us organize by size and style so that all of our families can find the jackets, sweatshirts, and pants that they need for themselves and their children without the worry of paying for them. This way, our families can get high quality gently used clothing before the winter weather comes to our neighborhood!

Being able to organize our clothing also provides a level of respect to our families as they "shop" in our center

    Thank you so so much”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shoshanna

  • Cross-Curricular Learning in P.E.!

    Funded Nov 11, 2024

Our students have had so much fun with the possibility of practicing their language and math skills as they run, play, and work together as a team!

Our favorite activity so far has been relay races while dribbling a soccer ball or basketball to grab poly spot letters and race back to their team. With the letters they created a crossword puzzle called banana grams where letters are shared based on the words they decide to build. There were even prizes for the longest word or words in different languages.

The kids had so much fun that they didn't even realize they were learning!

Thank you so much for this wonderful gift”

  • Bringing Peace to our Periods

    Funded Oct 22, 2024

Our families were so excited to see that we had period essentials packaged and ready to go for them as they needed it.

Many families expressed their gratitude and relief that they have one less thing to worry about.

We know these materials will not last forever, but we are grateful for the opportunity to provide them right now.

We hope that in the future we can find a continual donation since all women have the same experience each month!

For now, we are so happy to share with our families that the community cares about them and wishes them well”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shoshanna

S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, art, and Math) is all around us. We use it and see it every day and sometimes don't even realize it. It is also our future. My goal, my passion as an educator is to provide my students with the best opportunities to experiment, play, investigate, and collaborate as they discover that S.T.E.A.M. is everywhere they look! Unfortunately my budget is extremely low to support my students. We try to use as many recyclable and reusable materials as possible. With your help, and that of DonorsChoose, I can make sure that any materials needed for projects will get in the hands of these curious and creative scholars so that they will have everything they need to succeed!
