  • Our Germ Free Classroom Is Snackalicious!

    Funded Mar 12, 2025

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. With your support, we will get healthy snacks and sanitizing sprays and wipes. We can keep a clean classroom and help to prevent the spread of germs and improve learning even when students are snacking.

Thank you so much for your donation!”

  • Growing with Plants!

    Funded May 24, 2024

Thank you so much...We learned about parts of a plant and what plants need to grow in our science unit. The class was fascinated with plants. The students took care of the plants by watering them, making sure they received enough sunlight and giving them lots of love .

Having plants in the classroom not only transformed our classroom environment, but also helps my students learn! The plants not only help to brighten up the look of our classroom, but students also researched and read about what it takes to care for plants.

These plants will also be around for our next group of second graders. Its a great way to learn, grow and be responsible as we care and learn about the plants.”

  • Spring into Paper Crafts!

    Funded Apr 2, 2024

Thank you so much for all your support. The students are so excited!!!! We have been busy creating many wonderful colorful projects and tasks.

They love to make crafts to show off their creativity! AND we now have a lovely assortment of colorful bright paper and craft plates.

We have created so many memeories. We traced our hands on craft paper to create a bully free poster. We have used the paper plates to create masks, flowers for our bulletin board, and we wrote on puzzle pieces for Autism Awareness Month.

You have helped to provide our class with various colors of construction paper, paper plates to make the paper crafts of their dreams.

We enjoy the laminator as we use it to keep the projects forever and we use the magnets to display their work.!”

  • Ready to Read!

    Funded Feb 9, 2024

Thank you so much for these much needed literacy materials. Reading is such a neccessity for all students, and especially my bilingual students who have to learn all the different sounds, phonemes and nuances to the English language. The students are having fun phonics and literacy activites that they can use in independent learning centers, and with me in small guided groups. They love using the magnetic phonics tiles.

The centers help my students practice the academic skills we are learning while also having fun.

The students use these materials daily during small group rotations and their independent work. We practice beginning sounds, building words, reading sight words and the beginning reading books to help them practice CVC words.

    Again....Thank you”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Perez

  • Let's Get Organized!!!

    Funded Oct 18, 2023

Organization is key. Thank You so much!! Showing my students proper organization while teaching, by having materials used and returned to their proper location has allowed them to see how efficient and time-saving organization can be.

The trays are multifunctional... We store math manipulatives, whiteboard with their eraser, and now during our winter celebration month, we use them for our arts and crafts projects. We use the markers to color code writing sentences and anchor charts. We use the laminating sheets to laminate our sight words. This enhanced organization will not only create a tidier and more visually appealing classroom but also save valuable instructional time that would otherwise be spent searching for materials or setting up learning stations.”

  • I Can and Love to Read !

    Funded Apr 25, 2023

We are so excited to have our leveled library! My bilingual second-grade students love to read! We had been using and reading everyday right after lunch. The students are excited, they gather their reading material and snuggle up to read. We have Friday lights reading and having a leveled library makes reading more enjoyable.

I believe reading is the most important skill because once students can read, they have endless opportunities to learn about whatever they choose.

This leveled library provides the students with good-fit books to read and I have seen them make progress in their reading since we have had this library. I have seen their reading growth as the year progresses!”

  • Privacy Partitions to Help Me Stay Focused!

    Funded Jan 23, 2023

Having a private space on a student's desk is an incredibly important aspect of testing. We love using the privacy folders! We have been able to replace our old, torn and tattered partitions.

We are so grateful for these privacy folders because they allow students to focus and work without the pressure of classmates distracting them. The folders encourages them to work on their own time and keeps wandering eyes away from other's papers.

With the privacy folders, my students are considerably more focused because they create personal space for them to work. These partitions ensure that students focus and keeps them engaged in their own work.”

  • Books! Books! Books! How I Love to Read Books.

    Funded Jan 6, 2023

Thank you so much for making this project possible. The students are so excited to go to the library, select a book and find a quiet spot to read.

These books are not only used for our daily library lessons but also for independent reading experiences where students can choose books that make them smile.

The enclosed pictures are from our Fun Flashlight Friday where the students read a book with their flashlights in any spot of the room they select.

The children look forward to visiting the library daily and I know this will surely make them better readers and future leaders.”

  • Replenishing Basic School Supplies!

    Funded May 15, 2022

Wow!!!! Thank You so much for the school supplies. We ended the year with replenished school supplies and we are sure to start the next school year right. The supplies included crayons, toner cartridges, a tabletop pocket chart, and dry erase pockets.

Basic supplies are important and fundamental for the day-to-day function of the classroom. Having these basic classroom supplies enhances student learning and engagement. I use the tabletop pocket chart to hold sight words, review previous concepts, and during small group instruction. The dry erase pockets are the students favorite. They love using it instead of pen and paper to display and work out problems and responses. I am so proud of all their hard work and having these much needed resources makes it easier .”

My students are inner city bilingual children that attend an urban school district in northern New Jersey. Although they are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom due to their socioeconomic status and their varying linguistic abilities, they enjoy coming to school everyday.I currently have a group of 20 bilingual second grade students in a dual language one way classroom. They are an energetic, inquisitive, and hard working group of students that have many challenges, but despite that they still come to school excited and ready to learn!
